Haven't played fantasy for a while so am a bit rusty on rules, If I have a unit of VC Bloodknights and I give the champion a magic sword does that mean he doesn't get the lance attack bonus on the charge?

Yes, apparently if you hold a magic weapon you must use it. If you have two magic weapons you can choose which to use. TBH I have found its best to just not take the champion and take a normal blood knight instead. The points spent to get that aditional attack just isnt worth it IMHO.

You can't take two magic weapons on the same model, except in the case of an explicit exception (such as Hellebron's Parry Blade or whatever).

i wouldn't worry to much a new rule book for Vamps is only a month away. and this must be the first time im really not looking forward to it. i can see a lot of my favourite magic items disapearing into the games workshop graveyard

I'm looking forward to it. Our infantry are way overcosted right now. I'm expecting a drop in cost of skeletons at least to go down 2-3 points each.
