    Trying to Fix my Army

Hey guys, I bought a few units of Tau about 5 years ago and went to work painting and assembling them - however I've discovered that after actually reading the rules many of these models have been assembled with bits a pieces I'm not sure are table legal - baring in mind I don't have very much experience with the rules and I'm having trouble with the Codex but I read that the models have to accurately represent the equipment being used so this is what I need help identifying.

I wanted to ask if anyone could give me a hand fixing up these units to get them in order! So here are the specific things I'm unsure about:

    Fire Warriors
My two Fire Warrior units' models all have grenades on their waist but I can't see any differentiation between EMP and Photon grenades - I understand that you select these as wargear and pay the points appropriately but I'm not sure I need at least one grenade (or pair - whichever the little grenades represent) per model.

Specifically with the Shas'ui, I have added bonding knives and they appear to be holding a small scanner with two prongs; I'm unsure which piece of wargear the scanner is supposed to represent?

My second team has Carbine's except the Shas'ui which has a Pulse Rifle and one of those scanners.

    Commander & Bodyguard
I'm pretty sure these are overloaded since the codex seems to say you can only have a combination of 3 weapons/support/special issue devices.

The standard two models have the following:
    1 - Twin-linked fusion blasters; a target lock and a mult-tracker
    2 - Twin-linked burst cannons; a shield generator and a multi-tracker

    The commander is as follows:
A burst cannon; A command and control node; An airbursting frag. launcher and a missile pod.

Again I'm unsure if these have too much equipment or if I can pass off some of the additional bits as wargear.

    ----------------------
I'm pretty sure my sniper drone team is fine (except I glued the tails of the drones on the wrong way around but I'm assuming that's fine).

So if anyone could help me sort this stuff out I'd really appreciate it!
Please let me know if there is any additional information I can provide.

well first off, with suits, you can only run the 3 systems, hard wired systems dont count towards the 3 but weapons and gadgets do, and your build is a little off, because twin linked (often seen as TL) takes up 2 slots, sooooooo a little modification is required but not by much, i usually see people run burst cannon, missle pod with a multi-tracker and that puts out a lot of high power shots that you can move and shoot both weapons.

as for the fire warriors, with the wysiwyg rule(what you see is what you get) as long as a few people in the unit have grenades thats what maters and bonding knifes need only be painted on one of the models seeing as how your leader is normally the one who would carry it, but it is in your eye for design purposes if you like them all to have bonding knives then who cares?

Thanks for taking the time to reply!

I ended up removing the multi-tracker parts and adding them as wargear instead but I can always buy some more and give myself some better options/builds; Better yet I could always just rip off the TL's and start fresh - the parts already being painted can always be reused later and it shouldn't take much work to fix the blank areas with the new weapons glued on.

Again with the fire warriors I figured that if that was the case I can always buy another set, equip them blandly and mix up the models to even out the accuracy - for the sake of perfectionism haha.

    Thanks again for the help.

no problem, i actually dont glue my guns on so that when i want to change them up i can just add them on, or i think its gale force 9 that sells little thin and slim magnets that you can add to the arms easily and to the guns easily so you can run all configurations, as i've noticed when you play with one set up a lot it will get a little boring so its nice to add variety, ill see if i can add some pics up when i get home so you can see them in action, its inexpensive and easy, and good hobby shop will have them or you can always order them from the company directly, i'll find out who it was who sells those too.
