New Tau Battleforce...?

Since Tau will be getting updated in the next year or so what would you like to see in the new battleforce that will be released? I know you cannot say for certain since we don't know what all the new units will be, but I am interested in your opinions anyway.

I personally would like to see (if the kroot get a beef) more kroot and possibly one of teh new suits in ther. Maybe a fast att or heavy option?

I was thinking something along the lines of:

12 Fire Warriors
Devilfish
1 Crisis Battlesuit
1 Piranha

It comes to £72 which is about right in the savings. Saving £17.

It's also very mobile and could potentially be the driving force behind most lists.

i like that or even doing 2 suits because most tau armies need some extra fire power or even drop the devilfish for a hammer head that would be nice!!!

Do we know for sure that there will be an updated box? As a new player, I would like to know, so i can hold off buying until then. Not a big fan of the Kroot.

Not sure, but I'm holding off anyways, not a big fan of the XV8 and current Fire Warriors.

Seeing as ive got two Battleforce sets and due to savings purchased one Crisis suit and Tank Heavy weapons spure to make a nice big force id not want to make massive changes.

Keep the Crisis suit so you can use it as a HQ, remove the stealth suits and put in Pathfinders (they are due a resin or plastic kit) or a Sniper team. I think the stealth team is less of a core choice in most forces where as Pathfinders currently are and a Sniper team gives nudge for some heavy support if this is being used to start a Tau Empire army.
Also I would like to see maybe a new race in there to replace the Kroot (im hoping the Kroot will be able to play as their own army so get better boxes with options for traits like the merc list).

seeing how i own 6 suits and 6 stealth and 24 fire warriors and 16 kroot, i;ll about die if they redesign them,

What do you mean old? Only way they can get 'old' is if their war gear changes or if they are removed completely from the codex (which has happened)

Literally old. I bought them back in 1997, and they're now out of production. The new ones look so much better, and come with all the optional weapons and wargear bits. I'd be pissed if I buy a ton of models, and the newer, better looking version comes out a few months later.

Oh. No rules saying you can't use old models as long as they have the right wargear. Even then you can usually buy bitz from GW for fairly cheap. But ya sometimes they re design models and sometimes it's for the better and sometimes not.
