New life in the Eradicator
Been struggling to find a reason for this varient...couldnt until now. Scarab Swarms...being the new OMG thing were gonna see alot of them...for a long time methinks. but after a lengthy discussion peeps like the idea of the eradicator. It seems to be the perfect weapon.
Yay or Nay?

My only concern would be taking a tank that i couldn't reliably pop vehicles with. Ya the no, cover save is nice but at least with the Battle Cannon there is a possibility of dealing with tanks as well. But that is just my gut reaction.

If you're taking tanks to kill tanks as an imperial guard player...you're doing it wrong

IMO nothing in the game can take down the volume of armor that vet squads can for the same points...while also fulfilling the role of troops...chimeras...and you know...EVERYthing else about vets.
But yeah...anything in horde is what the eradicator...well exterminates...or something like that. Always been a good varient...just not always easy to justify. Find the AT elsewhere and you'll see how the eradicator can mop up the troops

But not AV14 and has a shorter ranged weapon. It's a great tank, one which I think is a shame that it isn't seen more. But then, the Intarnet sez that Hydras/Manticores/Vendettas and Veterans are "it" for an IG army, so to deviate from the norm just isn't acceptable. Boll*cks to that I say, the Eradicator is a great variant.

Just curious but I've found that a platoon command squad with 4 flamers easily wipes out scarab swarms.

down side to the chem cannon is range (fired as a normal flamer) and it's strength is 1, so it's not insta killing Scarabs!

also the AP3 is kinda mot against necrons now that their basic Sv went down to 4+...meaning that again the hellhound wins out.

Why? Scarabs are predictable, so let them come towards you.
