from a competitive standpoint, yes. 2 5man chaos termy squads are too much
for friendly games, sky is the limit.
chaos terminators are one of the worst cost effective units in the CSM army. they really need to be specialized to a specific type of task inorder to make the point cost back.
for that reason one of the better builds for them is the 'termicide' setup : 3 terminators with 3 combi-meltas and 1 chainfist = 120pts they are used to deepstrike in next to an enemy tank and kill it with the combi-melta shots, then they pretty much die (hence terminator-suicide) so usually you aim at your opponent's biggest most expensive tank (anything worth 120 or more points, landraiders & leman russes are nice targets), also monstrous creatures make for decent targets as the combi-meltas work nice to soften them up too and MCs are usually alot of points. If your opponent fails to kill them the turn they arrive, they have the chainfist to go after more tanks (which allows them to make even more points back). the draw backs are that a deepstrike mishap pretty much spells the end for them or if your opponent does not have any high point tanks or monsters for these to target (it takes alot of rhinos to make back 120pts) but even with these the squad is still cheap and thus doesn't put a big burden on the rest of your army if they fail to perform. (most players will use 2 of these squads if their usual opponents bring lots of tanks)
another common loadout is 4or5 close combat terminators in a landraider (4 if you're putting a chaos lord with them so he can fit in the landraider too, otherwise 5). setup is most to all of them with paired lightning claws and either the icon of khorne for more attacks or icon of slaanesh for faster intiative (my fav, though I recommend giving one of these termintors a chainfist just so they can fight off an enemy dreadnought because if the squad has nothing but S4 attacks, the easiest way to stop their rampage is assault them with a dreadnought with AV12 that they can't scratch. so one model toting S8+2d6 for anti-armor means a very dead dreadnought). this is a very expensive setup that is more bark than it is bite, great fun to use, but it's rarely going to get its points back- though this doesn't mean it isn't going to affect the game's outcome; because if you get them in to right possition fast enough with the landraider, they can steamroller your opponent's scoring units with all those power weapon wounds.
the main drawback for chaos terminators is actually the model kit. it doesn't come with enough of the right parts to really make either of these builds
(only one combi-melta, and no lightning claws - you have to get those from either the SM assualt terminators kit or several Chaos termintor lord kits)
