Necrons and Nids 2nd wave in February?

I saw this on Heresy-Online, thought I'd post it up for you guys to see. The idea that Nids could get a 2nd wave release has me foaming at the mouth. It's been so long since the initial release, it'd be about time! Take it with a grain of salt as all rumors, and there's no reference, but I'm still hopeful it's true.

    4 Finecast

    Late-month Necrons:

    4 Vehicles Kits (1 walker, 2 aircraft)
    Tomb Spyders

While I'm guessing that the Nids may see the long awaited Tervigon and maybe a plastic Tyrant kit, I'm guessing the finecast will be the character models, such as Doom..

Necrons however, I'm guessing we're going to see the Triarch Stalker, the Tomb blades and the Scythe flyers. Will be interested in seeing IF the Spyders are a 3 pack and a duel kit with the Wraiths as speculated....

I say this because i was in my local GW yesterday and picked up a eldar fire prism to convert into night scyth but was told put it backand to wait for a little while by Brian (manager) .

As much as I'd love to believe that a Tyranid second wave is on it's way this rumour just sounds like someone made it up on the spot, or at worst, is something a GW staffer may have said to him. There's a lot of 'guessing' in there too.

Two releases in Feb? Doubt it. And aren't BT in Feb anyway?

I'm sure a Necron 2nd wave will be sooner rather than later if DE are anything to go by, that bit I can see but maybe March if BT is Feb?

February? Doubt it. March perhaps, maybe April for Templars. Plenty of time to squeeze in a second wave of something between now and then.

Sceptical Beeva is still Sceptical. 2 releases in one month?

Not sure what 4 plsatics and 4 Fincast would be though. (Talking about Nids still, Cron's don't really interest me.)

If Tervigon/Tyrannofex isn't one kit I'll eat my own eyeballs. Swarmlord/Hive Tyrant, possible. Harpy probably... 4th kit?

Finecast; Ymgarls, Tyranid Prime, Doom? Parasite?

I hope that there's no Fineco$t at all, though I doubt it. What they can do with plastic kits both large and small is great, they should continue with those.

The nid kits I think would be something like this -

    Plastics-
    Tyrant/Swarmlord
    Prime
    Harpy
    Tervigon/Tyrannofex

    Finecast-
    Biovore
    Yrmgarls
    Parasite?
    Spore Mines?

Can't see the Prime getting its own box. Maybe if the Warriors get re-done.

Would be disappointed if the Doom doesn't make Finecast.

Maybe it's nothing, but there's currently not a Hive Tyrant model listed on GW's site.

Spyder/Wraith Kit would be the nuts. I imagine the doom and night will be a combo kit. Can't really see a reason to make them separate as then nearly look the same in the artwork. Could care less about tomb blades, but want a stalker even though i don't think it is terribly effective.

Screw Spore mines actually, The Doom of Malantai needs a model doesn't it?

frankly the absence of a tervigon kit after so long is simply pathetic - its one of the core units for most army builds, and therefore makes nids unattractive for anyone not into major kit modelling.

It's listed on the UK site. Odd. They've only just made it Finecast though.

I can try. I think it should though, it's damned awful stuff. Especially when you consider what they can do with plastic kits both small and very large, there's absolutely no need for it to exist. Remember when it first rolled out? "What will be your first Finecast?" being the strapline? If I get my way, none. From my experience with it so far, you need to go over the entire model with a fine tooth comb and fill in a billion tiny little holes and various miscasts with green stuff before you can even begin work. It's no better than honeycomb!* GW can do plastic well, so they need to pull their finger out and start doing everything in plastic.

    * not once have I ever had this with metal models.

EB, I think the problem with making the plastic kits is the initial investment. The moulds needed to make a plastic kit are SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive then resin/metal ones. GW use resin/metal for models which are going to sell less, so they make their money back easier.

Yes, this is true. But, if they can invest the amount needed to create a single sprue "mini kit" which mose people will only need one of, then I'm sure they can do the same for many others, if not all. It's not like they can't.

Can't be nothing... why would they pull a model if it wasn't getting updated or Finecasted?

I was just thinking about getting one for my sons new 'Nid army... getting ready for a Miniature Market order... maybe I'll hold off on this one for a couple weeks and see what happens?
