New Necrons Help
I don't know too much about them, but the new necrons and their mindshackle scarabs look pretty scary to my crowe purifier list. My 5 purifier units are only 5-6 men, so mindshackle scarabs and power weapons will hurt. Any ideas on how to counter this?

Shoot them until they're all dead? If they're playing dirty, play dirtier. Get some psychotrokes in there, and maybe even some Rad, Blind and Empyrean. Necrons can play dirty, but GKs can play dirtier*. Mindshackles are more of a "don't get too near" kind of thing as most Necrons will crumble (in theory) in combat. If they're Relentless or have the Assault 24" weapons, then you need to take them out from further away. If they're Warriors: bait and move, bait and more, bait and move and strike. Scarabs shouldn't be a problem as they'll be predictable and easily dealt with (you know what they're doing, right? So dangle something for them to go for but is just out of reach).
* though personally I don't.

It'll be alright on the Knight - a slow refreshing of my original Grey Knight army.

I suppose that the vindicare assassin could be used to get rid of the model carrying the scarabs rather easy*, and thus making it safer to assault.
(*Depending on the model, saves, wounds etc)
I just realized that my user name totally sucks.

Hmm I didn't think about that they have more than one kind of scarabs. Mindshackle scarabs, in this case. The assassin can pick out the lord, or whatever, and use proper ammunition. Against regular scarabs, I would troll him back by bringing no vehicles.. but I suppose that I wouldn't know my opponents list before hand, unlike last time. Doesn't incinerators and psycannons kill them instantly?
And by the way, while I'm adressing you. Purgation squad: 2 psycannons in a rhino, driving around, or 4 psycannons driving around and eventually disembarking and shooting through anything? I know that you'd recommend using flamers instead but... I like psycannons. (If this is the wrong place for this conversation, feel free to remove it and pm it instead. I apriciate it.)

Mindshackles are a CC upgrade "weapon" such as grenades, Scarabs are entirely different.
Purgation Squads: up to you, both are good. I prefer cheap and effective rather than expensive and giving away cover saves myself.

Yea, well, I appaerently didn't remember to add "mindshackle" before "scarabs". I can see how that might get confusing. I am well aware of the difference. Whatever. Thanks for the advice though.

as ork said if your struggling against necrons vindicar is your best mate. Have him snipe out the characters with the orbs and other good stuff. As invul saves are quite hard to come by for necrons and the models that can buy one have to pay quite a hefty price hellfire rounds are perfect.
