Voyages through the warp question
So, yesterday I was reading my copy of "Horus Heresy Collected visions" [/showoff ]; the pages where they talk about voyages through the warp and the psykers; and something caught my attention.
When they talked about the psykers, they said that this beings can be dangerous (when in the wild) 'cause every time they use their powers they become (in my own words) like a beacon in the warp that can be seen by demons. They can become possesed and can unleash havock in their homeworlds.
The thing is: When ships travel through the warp, how come no single creature notices them? how is it possible for them to travel throuh the warp without the chaos gods destroying them?
They can make voyages that last for months! The warp is the chaos realm!
This makes me feel confused.

There are wo things to consider here.
One is that the warp, appropriatly enough, warps time. What is months for us could only be seconds to something in the warp. Although this also goes the other way. They could be in there for years.
The second thing is that they do get attacked. All the time you hear about this Imperial ship or other that got lost in the warp and presumably destroyed by demons.
As for why every ship isn't destroyed, there are any number of explanations. The ships fight the demons off, they're only in there for a brief moment, etc. Hell, the warp is somewhat infinite. For all we know, most ships could slip through there totally undetected. Even the chaos gods have limits to their power.

In fairness to you, that information isn't actually super easy to find. I happen to know it because I've been playing the game and reading the fluff for over a decade. Others know it because they've read some of the novels that go into detail about the process.
