Winning the Lottery.

Well i havn't won the lottery (Yet) but i like to ponder the idea of what i would do when i do win the lottery.

I wont live the glammy millionaire lifestlye (thats how lottery winners tend to loose there fortune, no i intend to settle into a nice house in a nice neighborhood have the car ive always wanted (2012 dodge challenger hell yeah) and since i wont be obligated by a job, i will learn as much stuff as i can and maybe even go to school for what ive always wanted to do. and definitely help my family and friends and GW will Loose a large part of there supply >_>

whats your guy's plans if you happened to acquire a fortune through the lottery or other means? its ok to dream.

I will keep it neat and tidy somewhere.. and

NOT buy a car.
NOT buy a house.
NOT spend it in a fantastic manner that will only get me back to square one (poor)

I would however...

GET A LAPTOP, the best that ever was.
GET A DESKTOP COMPUTER, again, the best monies can buy.
GET A PS2, because.
While I'm at it..
GET A TV.

The rest goes to funding Gifts of Mork and buying Crystal Palace, as well as investment wherever I see fit. Like... I'm eating in a coffee shop. It's a nice place and could go far. BUY THAT SHIT.

I'll stay in my cave of a home and in the college hostel until I get my diploma, get a job, then go for my degree, get a place as a lecturer, THEN get a place to stay, get married.

Do I have enough money for that?

I like my job. I'd keep it.

Depending on the amount of the lottery, I'd do a number of things.
First and foremost would be a residence of some sort. Probably not a house - Taxes could easily eat up everything.
Second would be a reliable, new vehicle.
After that, it'd go to fund my more eccentric hobbies (Most that I don't have funds for), including:
1) Building a car. Maybe not from the "Ground up" but damned close. Buy a chassis, strip it, rebuild it.
2) A proper forge, mostly with stuff that I can temper large objects in.
3) Funding for my various projects. Hiring editors for my work, artists for it, etc.
4) Funding for various things I like, like my new LGS (They're less than a year old, but awesome people).
5) Magic cards. I could probably blow all the winnings on them, but I can hold myself from doing so.

Of course, this will never happen. I'm too logical and scientifically minded - I know HOW lotteries work, and I know the odds of winning. Things like this average out to most people getting slightly less than their money's worth back. Sure, some people hit it big. Others just get shit on by luck.

Let's see

1. Pay off Student loan- Still got $15000 of that to pay for so need getting it out of the way would be first.
2. 1 Month trip to the UK- Been to bloody long since I've been back and would be 2 weeks of visiting relatives and then the rest travelling around the place.
3. Rebuld the Blood Dragon undead bretonnian army and pay for someone to paint it for me- Sort of get my old army back before my uni costs meant I couldn't finish it and get someone else to paint it for me.

Rest would go into savings and basically mean if I see something and go ohhh I would like that I can just buy it.

First thing I'd do is buy a decent property... certain types are always going to be good investments. The rich only get richer. Nothing overly mad just something of decent size and in a good area.

I'd have a day to day motor like a Diesel 5 series or a Range Rover, and a fun car like a Dodge Viper

It wouldnt be long before I bought an extra rifle or 2, most likely a .223 from southern gun company and a nice .50cal rifle.

Apart from that I'd help family like sorting out their mortgages and so on, ensuring they are out of owing money.

Then its live life, take it easy and keeping my ass busy.... oh yeah I'd have a games room for 40k

1, bigger house
2 , make sure my family are looked after ( pay off any loans , mortgages)
3, give something to the community , there is a woeful lack of anything for kids to do and affordable child care , sosome kind of community centre
with cheap childcare for working families and sports , rec facilities for kids .

all depends how much you win , a million isnt really alot when you factor in all the extra costs that go with big houses( a decent house would cost at least 250,000) and fancy cars

I work retail.... I would see how long it took me to get fired from my job.
I'm sorry, but the customer ISN'T always right.
I wouldn't be rude, or ruder than I get from some of the customers, but I wouldn't have to kiss their @$$es anymore either.

Get myself through college and get a job I like. I'll keep enough in savings to keep myself safe and donate the rest (if there is any). I actually don't plan to live a luxurious life and would instead like to have a normal one. There's just so much wealth that a guy really needs.

Allow my parents to retire comfortably.
Secure both mine and my brother's future.
Donation to the hospice that cared for my Grandmother.
Voluntary work.
Make a difference to as many charities as possible through a fund set up to generate interest with an annual payout over the course of a number of years.
See/do things that I currently cannot.
Remain normal.

Of course, it all depends on the amount won. £5 won't go too far, £5000 would be dandy, £500,000 would be damned fine and £5,000,000 would sort things just nicely. Wishful thinking is all well and good however, but if any amount came my way I'd be grateful for it.

Dude... lottery dreaming is one of my favorite hobbies!

Honestly, if I won enough I would split it with my friends (lets say $200M Powerball)... I'd keep half, because I'm not an idiot... but the rest would split between enough of my friends and family that they all get 7 figures.

Me personally?

I would do a few large things: start my own gaming store. Retail, gaming tables, huge facility with friendly staff and competitive prices... as well as an Internet sales arm with fully stocked warehouse.

Oh yeah...

Next would be a Pitbull rescue. No bully would suffer again if I could help it.

A mountain Inn or Lodge, complete with hiking trails, mountain base cabins and restaurant/bar.

I would have a new house built near a National Forest area... and maybe I'd just gift the Charger I already have to @Deception and pick myself up a Porsche.

I would walk into my Commanders office in the morning and say. "Sir, I love the Marine Corps, it's been great and all, but I'm done. How big of a donation to the 5th Marines Ball fund would I have to make to be separated....tomorrow? Then I would buy a nice house near family in Michigan, pay off everyones bills in my family, buy a nice car. Then I would complete my goal, right now I have a goal to visit every continent on Earth, it's doable not being a millionaire. If I won the lottery that goal would expand to every country, I would have the money and not needing a job I would have the time. I would also, in between traveling, expand my GW collection to immense, almost stupidly big proportions.

I have a couple of friends that run GW shops I would buy all the stuff in their shops other than Nids (I HATE nids). Buy some apartments to rent out and have money coming in for life. Open my own game store, the one I have always wanted with a bar and everything.
Blow $1 million so that I do not blow other money, and part of that will be cars and the like.

Actually I saw in a National Geographic adventure vacations magazine thing a 2 week trip to Antarctica for about $2500, that's doable if I save up for it. I think it'd be really cool too, I mean how many people do you know can say they've ever been there?

Hire personal trainer to get into shape
Buy lovely house somewhere warm!
Educate myself
Help friends and family with debt

I would like to pay off the mortgages of my friends and family. A new house with a games room. Sensible car. Money on GW for me and my gamings mates (it's no fun to play against yourself is it??).

And after all that is done I'd probably study as a way to pass my days. Course after course. Work with local charities.
