New GW Paint?

Heard that there is something going on with GW paint come March (mid to late). The GW store I go to is only getting a single pot of paint when they sell out instead of the six they used to get.

New pots again perhaps. They might have realized that the catch pegs on like 90% of the paint pots aren't there

Well, as far as i'm aware none of the paint pots have that catch peg, Arch, only the ink pots.
It would be nice to have that on there. I have no clue why they don't. I end up swapping lids out from my empty ink pots onto my paints.

I wasn't really sold on this idea until I was given a couple of empty dropper bottles and transferred some GW paints into them. Now I don't think I'll buy any more paints that aren't packaged this way.

A little birdy told me that far from paints being discontinued, the range is going to triple in size.

LAYER? ohhh. I get it.
They're doing what Foundry and a lot of others do.
You'll buy a base, a layer, an ink and a highlight of some sort. Essentially a bunch of colours that work well as shades and highlights without mixing millions of colours together the way we all do, for newbies and people pressed for time to get nicer looking models with less effort.

Talked to the GW dude near my town, and he has heard several rumours that he could confirm about paints coming. But when, how, how many etc, that he could not tell. Really really hope there will be a new paint case! I want one

I got this info passed onto me about the new GW paint changes.
-144 colours are in.
-lots of renaming of colours, nothing is leaving.
-All in different catagories now, Shades (washes) bases, layers, glazes (thin washes) and textures.
-Prices are staying the same.

So it sounds to me like the main thing GW is doing is reorganizing the line to make it more clear which paints/washes/etc are designed to be used in what situations.

• There are 144 paints (the current line is only 73), so the range is doubling in size.
• Broken down into Bases (foundations), Layers (normal colours), shades (washes), Dry (essentially goopy paint for dry brushing), Glaze (thinned washes for easier blending), Texture (sand + colour) and Technical (liquid green stuff).
• Bottles are not changing.
• Every color is renamed, there will be a white dwarf with a comparison guide released. Blood red is now wild rider red, ultramarine blue is Calgar blue, skull white is white scar etc etc. There is a big expansion in the greens. There are pinks again, and more purple.
• Foundation white!! Named Ceramite White
• New how to paint book that includes a 90 minute DVD
• Mega paint set available year round now, but is super expensive apparently. Prices are apparently the same (for now).

Expect a big hoo-hah come release, but if it's mostly the same stuff with a different name, I wouldn't get too tied up about it. The only thing I'm glad about is the pot of 'ard coat. Now they just need to do the Matt Varnish again too, and I'll be sorted.

Happy to see an expansion in the type and options within the range, but why the hell rename stuff?

this is fairly annoying...I'm really not sure as a to a why on this. I understand renaming the gorey colors to be family friendly. Let's face it: Rape Purple...was a really bad name. I don't really care for it being a WD for the guide...but it's a good move [marketing-wise]. Depending on price...a megaset is not out of the question to simply solve my problems and fresh start.

it is just called Gloss Varnish at the moment, i thought ard coat was the pots of "purity" seal satin varnish.

topic says conversion guide in White Dwarf, also would assume most stores would put one up on the paint range at least for a good couple of months if it is not featured on the website.
