    Hello!

    Hello everyone, i'm Charlie.

I'm new to the tabletop gaming side of 40k but not new to Warhammer in general, I used to buy White Dwarf often but never really got into the painting/modelling side of things when I was a child as I simply just wasn't very good nor did I have the patience for it!

Thats changed now though and I'm soon going to buy the Assault on Blackreach boxset and I would like some tips on what I need to buy to get my modelling/painting done, as well as any other help thats on offer, and thats why i've come here!

    Hello and welcome!

AoBR (as it's often called) is a great start. You'd need some files and a scalpel to remove mould lines, and some plastic glue to stick them together. Chaos Black spray paint is also a good bet, as is some paints. I think the booklet in the AoBR box might have information on what paints they used, so if like those colours, go with those. Alternatively, there's the painting starter box too, which should have most things you'd need in there.

    Hey, someone had to.

This week I am good-naturedly shaking my fist at: Baragash. For being unreasonably reasonable.
    Sex, drugs and pointy ears.
Cheaphammer 40p: 2000 points of Marines as cheap as possible.
It'll be alright on the Knight - a slow refreshing of my original Grey Knight army.

    Welcome!

First thing you will want if you plan on continuing with either of the included armies is the codex for each. After that a little imagination and a bit of patience is all you need to create a decent looking army.

Welcome to the forums. One thing, even though everything in the box shows the models in blue, and a lot of models on the website are blue, and the models in the store you got them from were probably blue, you can paint them any color you want. Have fun with it.

    Welcome!

AoBR is a great entrance to the hobby, good decision.
If you have any question considering painting or modelling don't hesitate to ask in the Painting/Conversion/Artwork section of the forum, lots of experienced painters there that are always happy to help! .)

I think I'm going to stick with them as ultramarines for now as I've brought the specific paints I think I'll need to get the Job done for that chapter. I also heard there are ultramarine insignias on the marines in this box set as well. I've currently just spent around £120 (including the sum I payed for AoBR) on equipment I think I'll need but I've probably missed out plenty of stuff, and probably didn't even get it for the cheapest price because I simply don't know where to go for the best prices.
