Dark eldar have a bit more fire power and are better in close combat, so DE have a much more aggressive gaming style
regular eldar have psychic powers which still boost them very well and have kept them competitive and our vehicles are more durable (AV12 as well as energy fields or holo-fields; flicker field is good but having lower AV just makes them more vulnerable to small arms fire). For its age, the current eldar codex is still decent compared to 5th ed armies, we're haven't been completely left behind on the power scale; and while we have had to adapt our stategies and finese, the changes we had to make to deal with new rules/codexes hasn't been that dramatic. we don't have any out-dated rules/abilities which is a sign of excellent authoring from the start, and we haven't been forced to completely write-off any of our units (though we have sa handful that are close but still useable; swooping hawks, shining spears, dark reapers, Phx Lords, & Autarchs)
-really don't need too much in the way of an update, mostly just point cost adjustments (reductions) to keep inline with the other new armies which seem to be able to field more for less. Some new toys, powers, or other gimmicks would be nice but not really needed.

Id have to give the edge to DE though Im 1-0 vs them with Eldar. Eldar seem a bit more resiliant with their vehicles, DE seem more resiliant with easy FnP access troop wise. I give the nod to DE for having better BS on most of their guys, and being able to take Destroyers which can rip up 2+ save marines for cheaper than Starcannons (I believe, could be wrong)
Id like to see Eldar become the masters of the psyker game once more, bring their powers down in cost more like GK are, with maybe 5pt powers -10pt powers. And Id like the Phoenix Lords to be useful to use an HQ slot on (Invuln saves for ALL of them, share abilities with the squad they join- im looking at you HBanshees PLord and Furious Assault- maybe count their Aspect as scoring. Id say make it troops, but no one wants to see 6 Wave Serpents full of Fire Dragons...
