Plaguebearers and Feel No Pain
Hey guys, I'm sure this question has been answered elsewhere, but I can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for. So my question is:
"Since all Daemons in the Chaos Daemons armies' listed "sv" is an invulnerable save, I was wondering how this would affect the Plaguebearers."
Let me get to the point. I have a squad of Plaguebearers and they get hit and wounded. I go to make my save and I have to choose between my Feel No Pain (of 4+) or my invulnerable save of 5+.
So Plaguebearers are not as good as Plague Marines, am I correct? Any thoughts, advice, tips, etc... Would be great, thanks.

you get BOTH your 5+ inv and the 4+ feel no pain saves unless certain conditions are met that negate the FnP save (AP1/2, STr10, power weapons etc.) and since they are true T5 yes not quite as tough as a plaguemarine to kill with small arms fire but are a heck of a lot of points cheaper to boot. (strangely enough harder to kill then a plaguemarine when we are talking battlecannons.)

@Pox - but as Daemons are all Eternal Warrior, you'd get your FNP vs str10 shots unless they were AP1/2, right?
Dane - it goes like this. Your Plaguebearer is wounded by a boltgun round (commonly happens). You roll your 5+ inv save and fail. You then roll your 4+ Feel No Pain roll and pass, meaning it survives. But if you fail that 4+ roll, it dies.
Now, if another Plaguebearer got hit by a melta gun (ap1), you'd roll your Inv save and if you fail, it's dead.

It'll be alright on the Knight - a slow refreshing of my original Grey Knight army.

Thought they did.
Thought that because EW ignores the "double toughness" which instant-deaths many things, that Plaguebearers could therefore take their FNP Vs Manticores for example but not Demolishers. Or is it because it could cause Instant Death that the FNP roll can't be made, even though they're immune to being Instant Deathed?

This it is such a powerful shot that they FEEL it! even if it does not slay them outright (say great unclean one) he is still going to be mighty miffed you shot a demolisher shell into his stomach! Though watching nurgling swarms running around with EW is good funs even if they do take double wounds from templates/blasts.

Yes. Wounds caused by No Retreat! don't habe anything that negates FnP.
Dr. Manfredel is wrong. That kind of thinking is never justified.
