Old Earth Realms (Warhammer 40000)
Hello.
I believe that the universe Warhammer 40k more like Warhammer FB because of too strong similarities in the plots. There are no real religions in the world of 40k (no Christians, no Buddists, islamic and etc.). Many states (countries) in the world of 40k on Saint Terra resemble the countries from the world of FB. I have read many books on the Warhammer 40k and FB and i make a list of Terra countries and realms before the reign of Emperor (States of Old Earth). Unfortunately in my country, this list was not rated. I think the world of 40k is not our real future.
Realms of the Old Earth
Alba (I think it is prototype of Scotland)
Tali (like a Tilea in FB)
Jermani
Kassia
Terravatt
Indonesic (prototype of Indonesia)
Suma-Turan (prototype of Turan Empire)
Ursh
Panpacific (prototype of Polinesia)
Merika
Frank (prototype of France)
Hy Brasil (Avalon in ireland mythology)
Athalantys (i think it is the legendary Atlantis)
Tupelov
Baktria (Belujistan)
Hyptus (its the prototype of Egypt)
Ural
Caucas
Ney Mogol (prototype of North Eurasia)
Achaemenid
Romana (prototype of Romania or Roman Empire)
Bukurezda (prototype of Serbia or Hungary)
Maskowi (Russia!)
Nordafrik (Nord Afric or Nordic)
Yours faithfully Alexander

Terra is earth and mars is referred to by the name we know it as so 40k is suppose to be what its is like in 38000 years.Warhammer FB is modeled after the earth we know it as.Just look at a map and not only are the land masses similar but the locations of deserts, jungles mountain ranges as well as empires imitating earth are in similar places. The empire represents mainland europe(especially germany),Bretonnia imitates england especially the king arthur era.Tilea is their verion of italy.Lustria is south america and the lizardmen represent the native american populations(mayan, aztec and incan.)Tomb kings would be the ancient egyptian empire.Sylvanai would be transylvania .Kislev is russia and so on.

Ok, sir. World of FB is really like an Earth. I agree. But tell me, why are all the real states of the Earth in the world of Warhammer 40k distorted? Still, I note that Hy Brasil - the mythical (Avalon) in Celtic mythology, and in the Warhammer40k world, this country is present in the Holy Terra, in the Merikan Canton. (i read it in one of books about Horus heresy). This country does not like as real Brazil (in South America). There are too many myths and legends. Warhammer 40k is the most mysterious fantasy-universe!

If you go way way way back in 40k lore to stuff they don't accept as legit anymore...
The Fantasy World was a world within the Imperium (not Terra) isolated by warp storms.
Third Doctor reverses the polarity of your neutron flow.
One must stand alone against the Darkness.

Names change even in our time.Your talking about 3800 years from now.Land masses also change and there are hints there was a nuclear war in the distant past plus most of earth is now built up.I forget the book but there was something about antartica now being the headquarters of some organization.Mars is still mars and is where the adeptus mechanicus make thier home and i have seen referal to terras sun being called Sol(which btw is the name of our son). There have also been references to time wherereligion dominated before the emperors coming and the emperor banning all religion.Actually was a short story about the death of the last presumably christian priest by the story.
Fantasy is just that and is based of the real earth. The geography is similar in that put both maps together and shapes are fairly close and the empires in those areas match with the empires from real earth they are modeled after as i stated above.
BTW terra is another name for our big blue planet we live on as well.

29th January 2012 15:17 #10This is the interesting thing. Karelia in 40k. Karelia means north Russia.Hive Karelia - Home to a library containing knowledge of the Dark Age of Technology. The library was bombed by Pro-Panpacifists and had been scheduled for demolition until Hawser succeeded in recovering over 7,000 texts from a data archive deemed worthless8b.

Achaemenid Empire means Ancient Persia. I do not understand why the empire is referred to in the future. It fell two and a half thousand years ago.Achaemenid Empire had therefore suffered little during the Wars of Unification, avoiding both atomic strike and invasion by Thunder Warriors
Dhul-Qarnayn was not a king. He was a priest on islamic religion.Dhul-Qarnayn
I found a few bugs and incompatibilities

I read it, sir. Some of my friends from Russia made a theory, about Warhammer FB world. They tells, that world of FB - is Terra in the age of old times.
How do you think, sir, it is true or one of theories?

I dont think FB is earth/terra .It is just modelled after our planet and cultures as the lexi link said.GW says that FB and 40k are unrelated.I dont know if they have said that since the begiining or just the last few years.I do find it funny how chaos has alot of the same characters and gods in both. That can be explained as just being easier to make major bad guys for both worlds though.

in old fluff, warhammer fantasy was a world in the 40k universe cut off by warp storms
now, fantasy is it's own seperate world, in it's own universe, as different from earth as star wars, game of thrones and lord of the rings.
40k is terra. it is earth, names etc are disjointed by time, for example, new york is known as 'the ancient city of Nova Yarik'
terra is earth in 38000 years
