GW Elimination of SOB?
I'm eager to collect and start a new army, Sisters of Battle being the army of choice. Realizing that the SoB are all metal, their Codex are in two White Dwarf issues, and there hasn't been any updates nor additions to their army model-wise in years, I have been wondering... Is Games-Workshop thinking of killing off Sisters of Battle?
Its hard to say, and I hope they don't eliminate them from play, but it seems that GW doesn't give our Sisters some love. I have not heard nor found any information that sets Game-Workshop's position on SoB and wanted to know what is your take on this topic.

I think if they were planning on doing that, GW wouldn't have bothered with the recent WD update. WD updates don't get new models though, only full Codex books do.

I would love to see GW give the Sisters some much needed love as they are a cool army maybe seeing as they gave the Grey Knights/Daemon Hunters a big update last round of new codexs they will now do this will SoB... we could hope right?!?

I do not expect the Sister to be updated "really soon now" given the recent WD "update". However, IMHO they are too fluffy and by now too integrated into the 40K universe to go the way the stocky short guys (is the word Dwarf still banned from polite conversation?) went. After all, the latest update gave them a life without the Ordos Hereticus.

i would start an sob army if GW actually had a place on their site to get their codex. even then, i wouldnt buy actual SOB models, as i dont have enough patience for a full metal army.
Have at thee!

GW white dwarf update is actually a positive thing. Look at the evidence. We have a new edition on the horison and a minor faction who's rules are already outdated, with necrons already in the pipeline and a number of major factions already in need of a rework there wasnt much chance of them being updated in any meaningful way. The WD update was the best they could hope for all things considered. No new models is a small price to pay for a working list.

The problem is though that many see their current list as "not as good", but then again what did anyone expect? Of course it won't be a full blown Codex worth £20, it'll be simple enough to fit into two Magazines and be done with it. No doubt many were expecting all the bells and whistles of a new release with fantastic new uber units, Faith Points which could be broken in some way rendering the army as near to an instant-win-button as possible etc etc, but thankfully it wasn't. As Morr said, it's workable. It's not great, but at least it's current.
It would have been nice to have seen one Inquisition book containing all three Ordos, but alas the balance issues with such a thing would be hard to the point that the only way to do it would be with limitations. And limitations don't sell models.

It'll be alright on the Knight - a slow refreshing of my original Grey Knight army.

It would be really nice to see a full blown sisters of battle update, they are really nice models and their story fits in really well with my custom marine chapter.
There is no way they are getting rid of sob just yet as you have all pointed out, but the models will take another year or two at least before we see anything major.
Guess we will just have to be patient

my local GW shop said that they are expecting some updates to a 40k army this summer but they don't know what. the guy said that following the amount of years SOB have been out, they are guessing it might be SOB but they can't confirm it.

im currently trying to sell my sisters army, still trying to get the pics of my camera for ebay but its roughly
72 total sister models, uriah, celestine, 1 penitent engine. 3 rhinos with whirlwinds to be used as exorcists. 2 immolators, 1 converted immolator 3 rhinos and 2 oop rhinos. 6 converted crusaders, 5 seraphim
thats just a general run down, dont have exact list, most are painted well, some not so much and others not painted at all. but i would say 3/4 of the army is painted,
looking for 450$ if anyone interested i will have pics soon
