If this were true (and I'm not saying it's not), then it would also mean we are getting a new Chaos Dex in the next few months for the Cultists, surely?

It said in the first post that there would be DA and Chaos in the starter box, so alongside this DA dex there surely must be a Chaos Dex also? If there is cultists etc anyway

How to differentiate Dark Angels from other codices? Launching a plastic infantry set would be good. But a host of new models?
    (1) different scoring units. Bikers would be an obvious choice - both bike and scout bikes. Possibly only scoring units with certain character choices. Assault termies as scoring units perhaps? And scouts.
    (2) some individual special units not available to other codexes. By having models already available through Forgeworld, save on launching yet more plastic kits. - eg Condemnor (is that right spelling?) dreads as well as normal dreads, possibly a different model of landraider. Or an upgrade kit to an existing model, eg a different version of the Stormraven.
    (3) use of some IG rather than SM codexes - eg how cool would it be to have an SM codex that could fly Valkyries
    (4) Individual upgrade equipment or powers for core units not generally available, e.g. Descent of Angels for DA termies. Termies and bikers would be obvious choices here. Perhaps a termie character that gives termies FNP (ouch!), +1A, Stubborn etc.

The whole point of the Dark Angels Chapter is the bike spearhead followed up by a terminator hammer strike. That combo, plus making one side of the table 30 degrees warmer than the other due to an excessive amount of plasma weapons. These principles should be reflected in the new codex.

Any real improvements I would make to the codex as it stands now to make it competitive would be:

To lower the cost of plasma weapons to the whole army, or at least devastator squads. This can be at the expense of other weapons in my opinion.

To make Belial's sword strength 5 to make it actually worth choosing over the Lightning Claws or Thunderhammer/storm shield and to give him an iron halo (I mean, seriously.. he is the ONLY space marine captain in the game without one.)

Giving Sammuel scout, or at the very least the teliport homer array that everyone else under his command happens to have.

Assault Marines should have the options for special weapons/plasma pistols, as it stands now the squad is only able to upgrade to two plasma pistols only with no access to power weapons or melta bombs. only the sergeant may take power weapons, melta bombs or a combat shield. possibly allowing them to drop in next to the teliport homers on the bikes if the homers are upgraded to the scout biker array in the 5th edition Space Marine codex.

The inclusion of the Land Raider Redeemer to the chapter arsenal.

More powers for the Librarian units, or atleast allowing them to take Mind Worm.

Things I would like to see (in other words, me just dreaming):

Inclusion of the Land Raider Ares into the chapter arsenal

    Specialty Dreadnoughts

Plasma Cannons on Terminators (becuase, why not?)

-Is the owner of the titan killer Razorback-
-5,000 points of the First Legion and counting-

Your kidding right...? The dark angel marines are the cheapest marines you can currently buy from GW. The quality is fantastic and while you have to buy your SW and HW from other sources, you still getting them cheaper then a normal tactical squad. You should all be hoping they dont take it down.

I went to have a look but there's no Dark Angels section on the UK GW site. Or Black Templars for that matter. Anyone know how long that's been the case?

They are grouped together under the Space Marines category. Have been for as long as I can remember. Same was true for Space Wolves and Blood Angels until they received their latest codices, then they were given their own section on the site.

Ah yes. I looked under SM but assumed they'd just be lumped into the force org. sections; I didn't think to look for their own bit.

Someone was fooling around with urls in GWs site and came across a new page entitled 'Dark Angels'. This new page is in the style and format of the introduction pages to the Blood Anglels and Space Wolves (and many others).

Name:	da-grab.png
Views:	302
Size:	451.8 KB
ID:	7377

Why is this significant? Well currently the DA don't have their own intro page as they are categorised under generic Space Marines. Note the link to VIEW ENTIRE ARMY PRODUCT LIST goes to another placeholder page with listed items but no product details. Interesting? Maybe. A general ramping up of the Dark Angels in online marketing possibly before an important release? Either way I'm sure some poor web developer will need to do some explaining to as to why he didn't hide the page properly via htaccess.

I can't wait to see how they'll do a robe for a dreadnought. What? It'll happen!

Maybe a robe for a Stormraven is wishful thinking but a Beeva can dream!

I don't think they would release a new plastic (or even Finecast) Contemptor model so soon after Forge World came out with it. Not saying they won't have rules for one, but it doesn't make sense to remake the same model after less than a year.

Yeah, especially as there are already 2 versions out.

Dr. Manfredel is wrong. That kind of thinking is never justified.
