Why no one is using bike and raptor?

I watched CSM games, I never see anyone using fast attack, seriously, are they really lame, I like the raptor model, I want to try them. However, my local store , those people want me to have the real model to play with it, I do not want to invest on a sorry unit .

Answered your own question right there.

Good judgement comes from experience, alot of that comes from bad judgement

No one takes bikes because they are waaaaay to exspensive.

As for raptors...idk. If they were cheaper or I came up with a nice conversion i'd build a list around 30 of them.

raptors can be good if used the right way. if you add a couple melta guns then they can be used as a decent tank killer

Bikers are waaaay to expensive. Raptors can be used as a small anti vehicle unit. I've had moderate succes with 2 units of 5 raptors: 2 meltaguns and 1 non-upgraded champion as a possible sacrifice for a summoned greater daemon.

Also the metal raptor models are a huge pain in the *ss to field, they allways, allways fall over (even when you put some weight below the base)

There is no peace among the stars, only an eternity of slaughter and the laughter of thirsting gods.
Cast down the idols! Destroy the temples! slay the priests! Show these fools that they worship nothing more than a rotting corpse!
Sanity is for the Weak! Your slavery to the false emperor ends today!

Chaos bikers are way too expensive. That's their problem, though I have seen them used to good effect as tank hunters (melta guns), so I wouldn't discount them entirely.

As for Raptors, no one I know, even the dedicated Chaos fan boys, ever plays them. They just don't seem worth it. Same with Havocs.

Ebay is your friend when you want to buy expensive units
A biker unit is as fast as Chaos can get. Give them powerfist and meltas to kill tanks, or plasmas and power weapons to kill devastators.

    Chaos Bikers:

2 Melta Gun guys, 1 plain jane champion with an icon. You now have a unit that can zip around the field, take out tanks with their melta guns, deep strike onto, or sacrifice the champion for a Greater Daemon all for around 110pts

I sue them. I tend to mob them into a 20-strong unit, add my lord with Jump Pack and terrify my opponent by leaping into combat from out of sight, multi-assaulting the hell out of him and generally putting the boot into his carefully laid plans while I take objectives with Lesser Deamons and regular CSM's

ahhh! true :p i'd like to see a points reduction for a few things in the new codex, or even keep the points the same and add something which makes em a little more useful.

i guess im just bitter cause i have a squad of noise-bikers with sonic blasters who saw a fair bit of action before the current codex came along and made them useless.

For me, I like to run Raptors if I can find the spare points (tend to be between the couch cushions). Reason? I bought regular Assault Marines, painted them Alpha Legion colors, applied a transfer here and there, and maybe a head swap or an arm, and BOOM: Chaos Raptors! Lightweight, looks chaos-y enough, and if anyone questions it, I can always answer 'I'm Alpha Legion, deal with it."

    Corpses for the Corpse God!
    Tau (Non-specific) 2000
    Imperial Guard (Cadian) 2500
Chaos Space Marines (Alpha Legion) 3000
Sisters of Battle (Order of Our Martyred Lady) 1500
Tyranids (Hive Fleet Wyvern)(I named them that so I could yell 'Take to the skies!') 4000

    Rule 9. - Thread Necromancy
Please do not post into very old topics (topics which are beyond the second page of the particular forum, or that have not been posted in for a month or more) - it causes annoyance with other members, as well as a lot of confusion as to where the topic has come from!
