1600 point tourney list, very comp!

Ok, in my 1 1/2 years of 40k, I have never made a 1600 point list, but it opens up some fun options, tourney is this Saturday, btw, so hoping to get this ready on short notice!

    Hq: haemonculus: 55
    -venom blade

    Elite: 4 grotesques: 220
    -1 liquifier gun, raider, flickerfield

    Troops: 10 wyches: 240
-haywire grenades, 2 hydra gauntlets, hekatrix, agonizer, raider, flickerfield

    10 wyches: 240
-haywire grenades, 2 hydra gauntlets, hekatrix, agonizer, raider, flickerfield

    5 warriors: 125
    -venom, 2nd splinter cannon, blaster

    5 warriors: 125
    -venom, 2nd splinter cannon, blaster

    5 warriors: 125
    -venom, 2nd splinter cannon, blaster

    5 warriors: 125
    -venom, 2nd splinter cannon, blaster

    Heavy: ravager:115
    -flickerfield

    ravager:115
    -flickerfield

    ravager:115
    -flickerfield

    Total: 1600 points

Battle strategy: ok, the heam stays with the grots, they are my big cc unit, nothing can double them out, and they'll have fnp and furious charge turn 1, the only thing they have to worry about are instakill weapons, for that reason, can't really decide between these guys and 9 incubi + heam. (no, thank you, nine is NOT overkill).

Wyches charge the regular troops, as one grouping, overwhelming 1 enemy squad at a time. (should I slim these squads down, they're pretty heavy on points?)

Warriors are there to zip around early game, and hold/contest objectives late game (if they last that long). Can't really decide between these guys and more wyches, as the warriors give my opponent easy kp's....

Ravagers: these guys are pretty straightforward...can't decide between 2 and three, though my local comp meta is pretty vehicle heavy.

Open to all critique, need to get this list to be a gem by Saturday.

    Thanks guys! Phillip

If you want to kill something with the wyches, you have to invest those points IMO. Without upgrades it's hard for them to kill something other then maybe firewarriors or grots Personally I can't decide if I like the razorflails more then the gauntlets, both sound awesome.

The rest looks playable, but take my opinion with a grain of salt, as I never played at a tourny

I like the look of the list. Couple suggestions and questions:

If putting a Haemonculus in with the Grotesques, i like putting him with just a basic power weapon. It cuts down on points and still is effective with the FC bonus. In prolonged combat with MEQ it may not be as good as an Agonizer, but if your playing someone smart, theyll target the Haemon and kill him for the low LD of the Grotesques.

Do you like Grotesques and thats why your running them or trying them out? I'd go with Incubi so you can have a heavy unit that can punish elite units of your opponents. You can fit 7 in Raider with the Haemon if you choose. Wouldnt be a bad change I think. If not, the Grotesques look fine set up wise. If you run the Incubi. put a Haemon in there with a Liquifyer.

Your Warrior units look solid, and its noce you have 4 of them.

The Wyches look good but I ALWAYS put haywire Grenades on them. They are too good not to have. The Wych Weapons I find are a luxury and do not provide enough support to warrant 20 points. Others see differently, but I would definately throw Haywires on because one walker can ruin your day. I usually go like this:

x10 Wych, HWGs, Agonizer, Raider w/ FF, Sails- 225

Ravagers are always solid choices. I have been putting Night Shields on though now instead of flickers because of the ever growing presence of GK and Necrons. It cripples them bad. It isnt too difficult to find cover behind Raiders or actual terrain if you position them well.

Overall nice list. It will play well as is, but with a few tweaks I think it can be pretty unstoppable. I was thinking somethin like this:

    Haemonculus w/ LG

x7 Incubi, Klavex, Raider, FF, Sails

x10 Wychs, HWGs, Agonizer, Raider, FF, Sails
x10 Wychs, HWGs, Agonizer, Raider, FF, Sails
    x5 Warriors, BL, Venom
    x5 Warriors, BL, Venom
    x5 Warriors, BL, Venom
    x5 Warriors, BL, Venom

    Ravager w/ NS or FF
    Ravager w/ NS or FF
    Ravager w/ NS or FF

Total 1599 with a few personal touches added. Good luck!

Thanks! That looks great, I'll make change to the list when I have time! Only thing I disagree on are the incubi, as I feel like my local meta requires a more durable leading unit.

    Thanks! Phillip
