    1000 point competitive (need help)

well as im new to necrons, i dont really know the best ways to create a compeditive list for them, but so far this is what i have come up with, constructive criticism is very welcome!

    HQ

    necron overlord
    pharon
    warscyth
    120pts

    TROOPS

    necron warriors
    5 extra warriors
    ghost ark
    245pts

    necron warriors
    4 extra warriors
    117pts

    necron immortals
    85pts

    FAST ATTACK

    canopek scarabs
    3 extra scarabs
    90pts

    HEAVY SUPPORT

    annihilation barge
    90pts

    canopek spider
    twin linked particle beamer
    75

    doomsday ark
    175

now in terms of strategy I wasn't sure what to go with, considering I usually run a mech guard list but basically i would have a ponderous advance with the immortals and a squad of warriors with the overlord in the unit (to make them relentless) use the spider and scarabs to provide more of a flank move distraction and to pop the small amount of armour i will encounter, the ghost ark to provide a more agile fire-base/scoring unit and then use the doomsday ark and annihilation barge to blow the living hell out of any and everything hell out of anything left.

BUT as I previously stated I am effectively a Necron n00b so any help is very welcome

    Thanks in advance!

Looks solid to me but I would give the tombspider a gloom prism. It's your only psychic defensive in your list and there are pretty nasty psychic powers out there. Also I would try to add a res.c orb in your list and also a Cryptek upgraded to a harbringer of destruction with solar pulse. One turn of night fighting really saves your army as it will ruin your opponents 1st shooting phase.

As for your Necron Overlord if you don't plan to use him getting into Close Combat then don't brother buying a warscythe for him and just stick with the staff of light. If you plan that the squad he leads might get into CC then you need to add Mindshackle Scarabs and a Phaseshifter for his protection alongside the warscythe. I2 means he will most of the times strike last so he needs to have some defence against the incoming blows.

What would happen? If 4 models representing all my 4 armies would talk to each other.

Space Marine says: Kill all Xenos!
Eldar says: Well this is going to a civilized conversation, MONKEIGH!
    Necrons says: 01010100010101
Dark Eldar says: Hold on everyone! Before we are starting to have an enjoyable little slaughter has anyone seen my Cocaine? I serious need to get high!

You need a royal court and a bigger unit of something to truely take advantage of pheron. TL particle beamer is pretty terrible cost wise. I would find mindshakle space as well.

I would take out the canopek spider for 4 more immortals, and then I would attach your overlord w/ your immortals. Then, I would lose the scythe and take out a couple of warriors for a res orb giving you a solid, durable squad.

    Imperial Guard: 3700pts Necrons: 2500pts (1915pts painted)

Lately I have been using this list =

Phaeron with Res Orb. (he joins the 10 immortals)

    10 Immortals

10 Necron Warriors with Ghost ark

10 Necron Warriors with Ghost ark

    1 Monolith.

    Perfect 1000p,

The monolith is very scary for the opponent so most of his anti tank will fly that way, though your Ghost arks at the start aren't cardboard boxes either. The Immortals with Lord handle themselves quite well being able to always longshot and assault after their rapid fire. (Res Orb backs up casualties)

Keep it simple, don't force stuff in there. 1000p, nobody yet brings the big stuff .
