The thing! (Mafia) Day 4! Game over! Town victory!

Hey guys,

Kilroy's game is over and new PM's have been send out.
If you want you may PM eachother to represent whispering amongst eachother.

That night it all changed. You and your group had discovered the remains of an alien space ship deep under the ice. Once discovered, a horrible creature lunged out. A snow storm was picking up and before anyone could do anything, it stalked off into the night. Contact with the outside world is still impossible. The next day the thing reappeared, murdered most of the facility, but you and your group discovered that it cannot stand metal so after an unhealthy dose of lead poisoning, it died. As you and your group inspect it, you noticed that there was a lot of blood around its mouth. Its form looked vaguely human.
You don't know the other people and you've never seen them, because the facility was so big.
Later that day, several spat-out metal fillings were discovered and one thing is certain: Some among you are impersonators!

Now it’s your job to look for any of the impersonators, kill them and save yourself, before they escape to the rest of the world. Or not?

Days will last up to 96 hours. (Unless a majority vote is reached before it.)
Nights last 48 hours.

Since it's the first day, it will only last 48 hours.

If there is no mention of being a thing or being an impersonator, you are part of the human (town) group. Orange means human (innocent/cult/town), green means a thing (mafia), red means the serial killer.

Voting in bold is appriciated, but not obligated.

Roles:
Dog Trainer: Three times during the game you’re able to sleep or stay in the dog pen. During this, you cannot be killed but your votes are invalid, you cannot post message and/or receive/send PM's. You may use it during the night, to make sure that you are not killed or you may use it during the day to avoid a lynch or something.

Young Scientist: As a real fuzzy head, people admire you for the fact that you look intelligent. With the help of fancy arguments, Latin words that no one understands and some graphs and carts you made in the final moment, you can draw a mental edge over the other people. Thus your vote counts as 1.5. You're part of the human group.

Lurking Thing: You’re no longer human, only impersonating one. Every night you need to feed on the blood of a human.
You may decide to follow someone during the night to find out what they do. Later you will arrive to feed.

Senior Scientist: You’re an experienced artic geologist and when it comes to voting, you can use the respect that people have for you to turn the tide in your favor. Your vote counts as 2.

Deranged scientist. People have some respect for you as an educated man. You can use this to draw the advantage in case of a tie. Your vote counts as 1.5. However you also have a much darker side. You’re willing to do everything for the sake of mankind. You don’t know how the infection spreads, but what you do know is that the only way to make sure that the planet stays safe is to burn down the entire complex. Everyone is a possible thing.
You win if you are the last person standing. Every night you may kill, if you want it, somebody.

I don't really know what happened there. I think I gave a quick scroll up to check who posted above me, must've scrolled too far, saw Malk's avatar and assumed it was him. It's fine though - you can get away with things like that on Day 1 in still-joke phase!

IS this based on a movie or book? so can anyone tell me what the difference is between a "thing" and an "impersonator"? is it a person trying to impersonate a "thing" or is it a "thing" trying to impersonate a human? *looks confused and then remembers that he understands what human is!* oh and because i have not done this in a looooooong time gonna get this one in:

A Thing is one of the enemies and he is impersonating a human.

weird face from Kilroy makes me sad, so unvote: Kilroy

not really sure what to make of the first day, as no real information. Either we all have roles and I would move to Abstain and thus give everyone at least a single night to use our skills or if we have any regular townies our there then make a move to vote and see if can get lucky.

Ok since we can PM i'm playing a risky gambit here. I have declared my role to ONE other person in the game and because they could be mafia (though odds dictate that their is only 3 or 2 mafia in this game, so likely chances that they are innocent.) To lesson this risk of being used by the mafia I will PM both: Beeva, Drakon and Kilroy the name of the person I have declared my role to (But not tell them my role.) IF I die this night phase then i urge Beeva, Drakon or Kilroy to declare who I had declared my role too (and since their is three of them, if one of them is mafia then the other two can say if they are lying - damned if going to die this first day/night phase and not make some contribution to the game!) Hopefully as odds dictate the person i have declared my role to is unlikely to be mafia but if they die on the first night then they have been targetted and i will hold Beeva, Drakon and Kilroy in high suspicion as the only people who knew exactly whom i was speaking too.

Well this is all terribly convuluted for the first day, but should have done this in the last game from the onset and then even with my death might have achieved something.

If i'm not mafia then i expect i will be dead soon as an experience player, and as a said in the last game if I live past two night phases then indeed suspect me of being mafia - either way i view it I only have 1 or 2 night phases to make a difference and left it too late to do anything in the last one.

either way made myself rather high profile so a great opportunity for creating lurkers whilst everyone discuss's "Pox logic" and have got everyone's attention.
