Multiple wound mechanics and differing nobz unit

    Hi,

I've put together a nob unit where most of the guys are differently equipped in order to take advantage of the rule for wound allocation for multiple wound models. I plan on running this in a challenge league, and not fielding it in the non-league games where I think it would be overkill with my friends given what they are currently fielding for armies. The CL nobz are WYSIWYG so some of them are still the same pending future purchase and modifications.

I'm a little unclear on some of the fine points of the multiple-wound model allocation rules on p. 26, so I thought I'd run it by here first before trying to do it in live games. I played in the league yesterday but ran it as all the nobz were the same except for the guy with the klaw and bosspole.

Say I have ten nobz with different gear. One of them already has a wound. My unit takes nine hits. As I understand I am under no obligation to put a hit on the already wounded nob? It seems almost too good to be true in that if so then pretty much my foe has to wound all of my nobz before I have to remove one of them?

In the above example say I take a hit from a power weapon that would instant kill me. As I understand, I'd be under no obligation to put that hit on the wounded nob because they are all different?

Seems kind of gross if this is in fact how it works. Am I missing some rule or misreading something?

    thanks,

    Ann

both are correct. although the 2nd one i should say you want it on the wounded one....otherwise your gonna have 1 dead model that had more wound left on it.

Remember people, Basilisk'''s are my friends

    But sadly, not yours

Yes... in a nutshell you have to allocate wounds to one model until it is dead, then move on to the next in a unit.

UNLESS they have different wargear... then you can give each differently equipped guy one wound until each different guy has one... then you start killing them off when you run out of places to allocate them.

Thanks Pwner and D4C. I think I have a good handle on it now; I appreciate both your help. It seems a little wrong to me but I'm glad I have a better understanding of how it works now.

and with Nobz it's kind of fun to kit them all up a little differently...

Yes, wound allocation optimization aside, I'm having fun putting magnetized arms and different things on each of them.

They are a lot of fun. My nobz are mostly magnetized and today as an experiment - if I play my husband and not the challenge league - I took all of the klaws, which are all on magnets except the AoBR warboss and one nob, out of my army because I want to see how it does against the marines without them and for variety.

I learned about the magnets from my husband, who found out about them at the game store when he was talking to a guy about terminators. The game store was new so he talked to the owner and they started carrying magnets shortly afterwards. In fact, he is almost done putting together a squad of guys and ran out of the tiny magnets so we'll have to go and pick some more up today when we go over to play.

done forget to put a painboy with the squad. He gives them FNP. What you are describing is a nobz death star. Put them on bikes and you have a biker nob deathstar.
