    2,000 Point Shooty Build Ideas

    I'm using an idea for a build where I work on tiers where of every 500 points. Adding new models and upgrades at each tier, so here's my idea.
    500
    Captain: Relic Blade, Digital Weapons: 140 points
    10 Man Tactical Squad:Combat Squads, Flamer, Lascannon,Melta Bombs, Power Fist for Sarge: 215 points
    5 Man Scout Squad: Sniper Rifle, Missile Launcher, Camo Cloaks, Infiltrated: 100 points
    Razorback: 40 points (flamer combat squad and sarge)
    1,000
    Give Razorback Twin Assault Cannons:50 points
    Give Sarge Termie Armor and Thunder Hammer instead of Sword: net 15 points
    Sergeant Telion for Scouts: 50 points
    10 Man Tactical: Combat Squads, Plasma Gun, Missile Launcher, Combi-Melta for Sarge: 200 points
    Devastator Squad: 2 heavy Bolters, Plasma Cannon, Sarge with Storm Bolter: 155 points
    Dreadnought: Twin Heavy Bolter, Flamer on Melee Hand: 120 points
    Any ideas before I post the next half?

    Telion only costs 35 points after you deduct the cost of camo cloaks from the squad (he gives the unit stealth do you don't need them)

    Sarge in Termi armor? That doesn't sound right.

    Also - recommend ditching the dev squads and going with preds instead. Preds can move and shoot.

    Sorry it's taken me so long.
    I meant to give Captain that Termie armor you mentioned
    to cover the extra 15 points from Telion, Extra Armor for dreadnought
    1,500 points
    5 Man Termie Squad with Cyclone Missile Launcher and 1 Chainfist:235 points
    Land raider Crusader for Termies with extra armor:265 points
    2,000 points
    Command Squad with Standard, Company Champion, 1 power sword, 1 plasma pistol on same, and melta bombs: 165 points
    5 man Sternguard Veteran Squad with Power Weapon for Sarge, 2 Heavy Bolters, and 1 storm bolter: 150 points
    Techamrine with Servo Harness:75 points
    Rhino for entire Tactical added by 1,000 points, Extra Armor: 55 points
    1 Land Speeder with heavy Flamer: 60 points
    Any comments? And are there any games bigger than 2,000 points?

    Remember that the variations on ammo that Sternguard Vets get do not carry over to heavy bolters or storm bolters. Since the strongest aspect of the Sternguard are through the different types of ammo they can use (for free, by the way), it seems a waste to take that away.

    Okay then, I'll keep all normal bolters
    to replace those points: give Termie Squad 2 more Chainfists

    Or you could go with a combi-bolter or two. Those still retain their special ammunition, and the combi-meltas can especially benefit you in larger points games where you're more likely to see some heavier vehicles.

    Huh, I've always thought of Combi-Weapons as useless because they're only usable once. But I'll try it
    No chainfists for Termie squad
    1 of each type of combi weapon for Sternguards
    And my question still stands, are there any times where an army larger than 2,000 points is needed?
