Blight Drones
Just a quick question about running blight drones.
attempting to play a death guard army with the current codex, how useful are these floating bags of pus?
seems to me that 2 squads of 2 just to rush up the side of the board and take out meq's and light tanks, trying to get the back armour of vehicles etc. or to use them in tandem with plague marines in rhinos to assult objectives is the best way to go, but i don't really wanna shell out £40 a pop if there just gonna sit on my shelf collecting dust.
anyone have any real first hand gaming experiance using or playing against these units?

There is no peace among the stars, only an eternity of slaughter and the laughter of thirsting gods.
Cast down the idols! Destroy the temples! slay the priests! Show these fools that they worship nothing more than a rotting corpse!
Sanity is for the Weak! Your slavery to the false emperor ends today!

sure, i get you, i have the rulebook that they are in, aswell as mammon for chaos daemons, love that model, was thinking of using him as a summoned greater daemon.
the gaming group i usually play with it pretty friendly when it comes to fw models and rules, i already have the upgrades on 2 units of plague marines and a 4 man unit of termies with the fw bodys, and the typus model as a lord with daemon weapon. theres a player who uses the fw IG (drop troops with re-breathers, can't remember the name of them) and we've got a not so regular player who uses the old style dreads (contemptor?) as venrables.
i'm not likley to be playing tornements, as im not an amazing player of the game tactically, i prefer to play a campaign with a good narrative, and we often have planitary empires, leagues and knock-out 'cups' (much like football but not... :p)
but thanks for the heads up, i'll be sure to remember that for the future.

I have faced them a few times (Summon @PyroSikTh
), and they're annoying enough but reasonably balanced. They'll die to melta, and explode quite nicely, like anything else. If anything, they're about 20 points too expensive I'd say, but still a capable threat and distraction. Cool models, and that's all that counts. If you're having trouble using them, just call them Nurgle Vindicators and use them as such.
This week I am good-naturedly shaking my fist at: Baragash. For being unreasonably reasonable.
Sex, drugs and pointy ears.
Cheaphammer 40p: 2000 points of Marines as cheap as possible.
It'll be alright on the Knight - a slow refreshing of my original Grey Knight army.
Cordova: In my head you're eight foot tall, always carry an officer's sabre, and speak like Theoden at the battle of Pelennor Fields.
Grey Knights don't go to heaven: they go to hell and regroup.

I use mine quite a lot. I have 2 and I run them separately where they're just an annoyance for your opponent. A battlecannon on a Fast Skimmer is nothing to sniff at. However they can be quite fragile, which you can use to your advantage as they always explode when destroyed. When you find yourself in a lose-lose situation, just speed them into a clump of enemy infantry and hopefully take some with you. It's not something to rely on, but it's nice enough.
I probably wouldn't field more than those 2 though as then you start eating up points. 2 units of 2 is 500pts right off the bat, and I'm not sure they'd pull their weight as much.

cheers for the feedback guys, never thought of them as proxy vindicators so i may do that at somepoint
i wasn't expecting them to survive too long but suicide pus bombs sounds like a laugh!
i'm gonna buy just the one to start with, maybe even run that in small games just to get a feel for it. battlecannons indeed, i like the image of a bile gun spewing out liquid acidic enough to burn tanks and power armor.
how did you paint the ones you have? on the net theres some with cool rust armour but im not sure i want them to look that different to the rest of my army.

They're a flying Defiler. What's not to love?
I've had them used against me and they really made themselves an annoyance. While a Nurgle list doesn't have this option, getting lashed out of cover and into tight groups really broke my army's back.
Dr. Manfredel is wrong. That kind of thinking is never justified.
My mod voice is green.
If you have any comments, questions, or concerns about my moderating, please PM me.
