600 Point Space Wolves Army

Whilst I have the required Codex, I have nothing else required for this hobby. Having checked with my friends, our school club requires a 600 point army. Space Wolves are my favorite so far, hence I shall be going with them. I'd like a recommendation list of what I should include in this army, with links to the Games Workshop website preferably, along with mentions for any of the paints I'll need to paint said models. I will be buying the hobby starter set, though, so don't bother mentioning any stuff in there.

Okay, so currently I have included the two products you just mentioned along with the hobby starter set. Obviously, I'll need some Space Wolves Grey paint. I'll also require a dice cube and tape measure to even play, so I've had to add them to my list. Current total is at £71.45 pounds.

How many points are those two products together, by the way? Also, what paints shall I require besides the ones included in the Hobby Starter Set and my Space Wolves Grey? I want my army to look good, but don't go over the top with paints as I neither have a substantial amount of funding nor any particularly great skill with a paintbrush.

Umm. I would probably say about 500 points ish.
You might want to add a Rhino transport or two.

I'd probably go for something like this (off the top of my head)

Rune Priest + Chooser of the Slain = 110
2 lots of 9 Grey Hunters (Meltagun, Mark of Wulfen, Wolf Standard) + Wolf Guard (Powerfist, combi melta) + Rhino = 486

So that's 596 points and is pretty versatile...

I highly doubt it. Most armies find it impossible to get dead-on points. For example, I don't think Space Wolves have anything less than 5pts to fill those 4pts the list needs filling.

What pyro said, normally a 600-point list is in fact "up to 600 points". But nobody would bring only 300 points to a 600 point battle, as it would be a great disadvantage. But up to 10 points lower is no problem. If every list has to be exactly the points it would be near impossible to write lists, or there would be only a few viable lists per codex

Would that suffice for my 600 points school club? Also, what other paints might I need in order to build the army? Perhaps, if I am lucky, my friend could lend me some of his paints. Also, on a side note, anyone have any recommendations on how a fourteen year old kid can earn some cash? Don't mention doing chores for parents, as they simply do not have the money.

A few pounds isn't going to make too much of a difference. I should be able to scrape together the £100. What I'd like to know are what other paints I'll need and also how good that army would fair in a 600 point game against my friends' armies. They play as Salamanders (Space Marines), Dark Eldar and Eldar.

I would say it all depends on play style. You just have to play and see. Since its a very basic layout and you have to follow FOC with the required HQ and two troops I would say you should do ok.

Skill lvl of both you and your friends will make all the difference in your games, you will likely suffer a few losses due to being the "noob" as you grow in both knowledge and skill you will get better just don't rage out and quit if you for the first few games get whipped

It's hard to determine how a 600 point list will fair against other 600 point lists...it's a pretty limited points set. You'll need to play a bit and see how the list plays...and test it versus a few opponents.

Also it's important to note that..Space Wolf grey paint...is in fact fairly blue...Some people want grey Space Wolves and are sad when they paint with the blue tint

You could also try a discount online retailer to save yourself some money...There are banners ads for them on the forum...and there are reviews of various ones in threads.

Umm. Just a quick note. That list was illegal. You'd need at least 3 Wolf Guard.

I mean you still only need what you have above, but the list would need tweaking...
