    Alternative models for veterans

so, whilst pulling together my Catachan army I started of thinking of ways to make my Veterens look different and thought of the usual different colour scheme, some Cadian parts etc... but then started wondering what else was out there for conversions or whole models.

I had a look at the necromunda range. Any body any views on using House Goliath Gang members as a unit of veterans? Was going to pair them up with Harker too... they have that topless rambo thing going on too.

    thoughts??

I would not object to my opponent use of Goliath as veteran. I use Necromunda gangers as Inquisitorial henchmen. What about the weapon choice?

well that im not sure about as im not certain what options come with the goliath gangers but i guess id be more focussing on the look of the army rather than their competitiveness.

I guess if i could combine the two great, but im really looking for something to make my army more personal...

Necromunda boxes for the standard gangs come with clips of weapons: but I know that Goliath in Necromunda can't take Lasguns so I'm not sure you will get any. Also the 'Heavy' will be a Heavy Stubber which you can't use on an Imperial Guard infantry model. On the other hand it would be straightforward to arm them all with pistols and close combat weapons.

I made up a set of Orlock that look pretty good and they do look about the same size, ware bandanas, have lasguns and shotguns along with large knives. they look kind of like bikers, but with the right color scheme you could easily turn the biker vest (that have patches) into a flak vest (that have medals and honors). Just a thought, also space marine scouts with shotguns could easily be carapace armored vets. there are sniper scouts as well, use IG heads either the cadian with helmets or the jungle fighters. I go to ebay a lot and look for people selling bits and just add different armies packs and bags. Orks carry these really great looking little three pouch packs that look great on cadian/catachan fighters, so do scouts, etc. etc.
