Articles Lost and Found
By now you probably know that most of the articles that were on Games Workshop's site have been taken down. Here's what they had to say:
As it turns out, not all of the articles have been removed. Quite a few of them have simply been misplaced.Hey there,
Thanks for writing in to us. As you've noticed, some of the articles on our web-site including many of the painting guides have been removed. Most of these articles have been out of date for some time and used paints that are no longer available. Our hobby books such as ‘Eavy Metal Masterclass, the How To Paint books and White Dwarf, contain an array of painting guides, and our Hobby Center staff are always willing to help out with painting techniques – just pop in and have a chat with them if you have a store close by. We also show plenty of painting tips on "What’s New Today", sharing the techniques used by hobbyists all over the world. With the new blog, this advice will be even easier to find, so don’t forget to keep checking back. You can also call our Customer Services department for advice too. The number to call is 1-800-394-4263.
We're not sure when new articles will be uploaded to our web-site, but rest assured that as we go forward more and more will be added to build up our library again.

Damn son, you're ... in need of getting out more.
Great work indeed. *nominates for Sour to get sticky*
This week I am good-naturedly shaking my fist at: Baragash. For being unreasonably reasonable.
Sex, drugs and pointy ears.
Cheaphammer 40p: 2000 points of Marines as cheap as possible.
It'll be alright on the Knight - a slow refreshing of my original Grey Knight army.
Cordova: In my head you're eight foot tall, always carry an officer's sabre, and speak like Theoden at the battle of Pelennor Fields.
Grey Knights don't go to heaven: they go to hell and regroup.

D4C's translation sounds spot on.
I've got a handful of older articles from before the current incarnation of the GW website existed saved on my harddrive, mostly about modelling terrain pieces and battle damage. I pulled them off the Australian site I think when I found they'd been removed from the UK one. According to my computer, I saved them in 2008.

You can always pull some of the older aticles out of the wayback machine or google cache(I don't know if google lets you look that far back though). Quite a few of the images survived, though not always helpful. You can still make use of the more text heavy articles.
The old sample army list, and a painting guide for farsight.
Their's some really good stuff on the old site (and the current one), if anyone is actually up for pulling as many articles as they can and making pdf's, it'd be a great resource.

Sticky well deserved. Good work, Sour.
As a sidenote, fucking GW, y u no stop destroying your own site?
Dr. Manfredel is wrong. That kind of thinking is never justified.

It does seem odd. I think it must be incompetence not intentional though. Look at how bad the event advertising area of the website got - which meant that people were less aware of tournaments and events than they could have been, which must have been to the GW detriment. Its much improved now, and now that the stores (can) have facebook there is the makings of local online communities.
A master of misinformation and delusional fantasies
