Rumor Source - Here
Okay, so I specifically read GW's weekly email on new releases and orders they only send to hobby stores. I'm not going to say I know somebody, but I know somebody. We both know what it's like to be shot at wearing a uniform in a country you could really give a shit less about, so this isn't just some guy handing me back water rumors.
There are 0 (ZERO) new releases scheduled for this week. Sorry to disappoint.
I will add to this post when the next email comes out.

I am pleased you guys get the point, my anti-rumor is accurate. I guess I should post this in the general discussion since it's fact, but I thought it nice to give the speculators a week off in the wake of losing Ghost21 or whatever.

Seriously though, next week I'll drop by and throw in what is in the mix in the coming week.

There was some talk about a few boxed sets combining a squad and transport for some armies. And of course the newest Necron Battleforce.

"Interesting to see no Tau or Eldar box there though."
Is it also interesting to see no Necron, Tyranid or Dark Eldar ones either? No probably not. Bit of a misleading sentence from that link.
Necrons
Dark Eldar
Death Guard
Nurgle Daemons
Traitor Guard

But ... what about LoTR?!? I wanna know more about a game I have zero interest in that'll be flogged to death for the next 2/3 years!

I like the sound of the Ork transport box. The battleforce costs £60 for 20 boyz, a Trukk and three bikes, or buy two of these and in effect swap the bikes for a second Trukk.
Ideal for those who don't want any more bikes, and a good saving to boot.

This seems like a good thread for rumors that don't fall into more specific threads like Tau or 6th Edition rumor threads.

And last, but definetely not least: more flyers seem to be in the works, including an Ork Fighter! It seemed to be very similar to the FW version. No specific mention of a timeframe was given - expect it sometime the next six months.

not really a surprise, the LOTR release this month is absolutely HUGE. what basically amounts to 5 new codexes and like an ENTIRE army in models.

Correction - LotR doesn't sell well when there's not a film to tie it into. The upcoming Hobbitisation of the New Zealanders will see those sales explode most likely, and then once the hubbub dies down it'll get ignore again, and eventually bumped to Specialist where it can be ignored. The game is, apparently, OK (for War of the Ring at least), but GW have enough trouble keeping up the schedule for 40k and WHFB. LotR won't last forever, and it'll eventually slide into oblivion, so why invest in something which will ultimately shrivel away? It ain't cheap, no matter which way you cut it.

but surely they could just release almost everything over a 2 month period, e.g wave 1 jan, wave 2 feb, instead of making everyone wait. it doesn't make me a happy gamer to think ive waited ages since the last codex and i have to get drip fed what i want over a period of 2 more years.
it would have made more sense to separate lotr into a different category altogether, i mean a different magazine instead of WD among other things, because lotr players will see 40k and fantasy and think "hey they look better, there's more people playing them, screw this". it could have been something GW could sell to another company, or turn huge, but it fell on its ass. if GW wasn't hemorrhaging money would they have to bother with "waves" at all? whats wrong with releasing a fantasy and 40k codex in one month? 2 weeks for fantasy 2 weeks for 40k, an endless supply of models is surely an endless profit?
butt i got carried away. i don't think GW would have taken on lotr if they had known about the recent economic crisis, but bad investment now could ultimately lead to the death of the company. /ramble

Model costs for production come into consideration when stagerring releases for maximum attention to those releases.
The Land Raider, a kit everyone wanted for the most popular ANYTHING they sell, didn't turn a profit on it's original sprues for years.
Hence if we can release the book and some nice stuff one month, then half a year later some more stuff, it draws attention BACK to an army that's already established and has made some of it's cost back. People enthralled by the new models either start a new army and buy the old stuff (speeding up its profit margain) or already have an army and buy the new kit to set up its profit margain.
