1000pts
Ok so I want to try and build a 1k Grey knight army using the contents of a battleforce, one single other kit, and a conversion. I think it's reasonable to assume that the battleforce in question has: 5 Grey Knight Terminators, 10 Grey Knight Power Armour and a Rhino. The single other kit is the Dreadknight. The conversion is a Captain or Librarian.
Heres what I got so far...
Grey Knight Brother Captain with Psycannon, Nemesis Force Halberd - 195pts
Grey Knight Terminator Squad with Psycannon, 2 Nemesis Halberds and 1 Nemesis Daemon Hammer- 225pts
Grey Knight Strike Squad with 5 extra Grey Knights, 2 Psycannons and 2 Nemesis Force Halberds in a Razorback with Psybolt Ammunition - 280pts (shouldnt be hard to buy the bits)
Nemesis Dreadknight with Heavy Incinerator, Heavy Psycannon, Nemesis Greatsword and personal Teleporter- 300pts
Thoughts?

Psychotrokes are cheapshots which GKs do not need. Ever. Unless you're in a tourny, in which case you need to ditch the cheddar and take along some stinking bishop. (and to be fair, this list isn't cheesy at all)
Drop the fail-chions, stick with the free (and superior) cc upgrades.
Lose most of the upgrades from the Strike Squad. Max 2 halberds perhaps to get the High-I level ID working, and as they'll most likely be in the Rhino, Psybolts are a waste of points.
DK needs a teleporter ideally, but I know it's a ton of points. At minimum consider Heavy Incinerator and Teleporter.
This week I am good-naturedly shaking my fist at: Baragash. For being unreasonably reasonable.
Sex, drugs and pointy ears.
Cheaphammer 40p: 2000 points of Marines as cheap as possible.
It'll be alright on the Knight - a slow refreshing of my original Grey Knight army.
Cordova: In my head you're eight foot tall, always carry an officer's sabre, and speak like Theoden at the battle of Pelennor Fields.
Grey Knights don't go to heaven: they go to hell and regroup.

30% of your points on one model? Yo crazy.
(but I like it
). Fun list I take it? Go for it. Otherwise ... too much.
BS5 Psycannon is awesome. The only thing more awesome is a BS6 one.
I7 is just saaaa-weeeet too.
I'd consider fettling the points a little to get more Terminators in there. Maybe lose one of the DK weapons, the BCs Psycannon (I know, I know, it's so very tempting), psybolts and whatever else you can in order to get more 2+ in there.

The problem is monies. I'm not going to be buying alot and buying another terminator box just for 1-2 models isnt worth it.
And yes, this is for fun. Although this tbh isnt that much differnt then my Deathwing army. i think this has the same model count. So i'm used to playing small elite armies.
Also, what do you think of libbies at this points level? worth it? or is a brother captain just a better all rounder?

Libbies are consummate all-rounders. BCs are ... odd. Champions at least have their place at very low points levels, and can offer some nice buffs to the squad they're with whilst offering some unique CC ability. BCs are ... just not quite right. They'd need something to do which either of the other 3 choices can't, but they don't, and as the other 3 offer more to the army/squad as a whole, they're the better choice by far. Even Stern is a black sheep of questionable use.
For a stacked Libby though, you're looking at 210 easily. But that's a Stave & 5 powers, which will see him be great at everything.
I know what you mean about money though. So try a list with 10 GKTs in and see how that looks to you. This has the bonus of being either one or two Troops choices as well, or one or two scoring units depending on requirements. I know the Strike Squad can do that too, but they're not Terminators.

Do you really need 5 of them...seems a bit excessive.

What, 5 psychic powers? YES! There's nothing more awesome than Might of Titan, Sanctuary, Quicksilver, Dark Excommunication (must have, always) and Warp Rift. It'll take down anything. Hence you need a Ward Stave.

How about this (Because we all know i'm a Terminator nut)
Brotherhood Champion - 100
10 Grey Knight Terminators with 2 Psycannons, 4 Nemesis Halberds and 2 Nemesis Daemon Hammers- 450pts
10 Grey Knight Terminators with 2 Psycannons, 4 Nemesis Halberds and 2 Nemesis Daemon Hammers- 450pts
And when my opponant see's it, i'll be like...lololol
I still really want a Dreadknight though...whats best for them? in terms of how many and at what points levels.

Not bad. Bit ... simple, but effective enough.
Stick with 10 Terminators, chuck in a Librarian, add a DK with kit you like best and see what you've got left.

Lose the Teleporter then. That'll free up some points. If possible, go with two DKs with a good weapon each (Incinerator & Psycannon). Then if you mobilise upwards, you can add the other and then the CCW before the Teleporter. Should work.
Must it be 1000? 1500 would be more reasonable to get more of what you want in.

Yer I am really looking for just a small army to start with. The 1.5k will probably include 10 more terminators and a Libby (by changing out the Champion ofc).
But hows this then?
Brotherhood Champion - 100pts
Grey Knight Terminator Squad with Psycannon, 2 Nemesis Halberds and 1 Nemesis Daemon Hammer- 225pts
Grey Knight Terminator Squad with Psycannon, 2 Nemesis Halberds and 1 Nemesis Daemon Hammer- 225pts
Nemesis Dreadknight with Heavy Incinerator, Heavy Psycannon and Nemesis Greatsword - 225pts
Nemesis Dreadknight with Heavy Incinerator, Heavy Psycannon and Nemesis Greatsword - 225pts
When changing out the champion though, i will only have 200pts for the libby. So what are the 3 most essential powers?

Sanctuary I'd say, Might of Titan and Warp Rift. You've still got Hammerhand by default, you'll need a Ward Stave for definite. Ideally I'd take Dark Ex and Quicksilver too, but at that level you should be fine without them.
