2500 Themed [Friendly]

Was talking to foamy on chat about an idea I've really been wanting to do. This is based on a 101 Airborne or Blitzkrieg type theme. It's 133 models in 11 units. It's not made to be competitive, and not built to beat new GK, DE or Necron lists. My hope is that it will be fun...and good enough based on speed and unit size to not simply be run over. I am aware that it lacks in scoring units and somewhat in ranged AT...But I just want general thoughts and constructive ideas without overhauling the list.

Zagstruk of course must DS. The other jump infantry will either deploy with the bikes or DS depending on situation. Snikrot of course is in reserves, the other kommandos most likely do as well. If necessary ALL models could be set in reserves...but this gets dangerous imo...but might be ridiculously fun.

It certainly looks fun as hell! If you could find some extra points, i would at least consider to give your kanon crews a couple of ammo runts for that reroll. I'm a big fan of kanons, use them alot and i can tell you they have allmost allways made up for their points, the reroll to hit has been a lifesaver many times. As the only stationary target on the field they are going to attract some firepower, perhaps a couple of extra meatshi... eu gretchin wouldn't hurt.

It might only be 133 models in 2500 points, but it's 133 models that will still be a pain if used right, but mostly be Orky and fun to use. Go for it I say.

I want to keep all the squads full for the theme, so the best way I see to get said points is to drop the 'eavy armors and the boss pole in wazdakka's squad since he has one. This gives 15 points or 5 grots. Could do 3 ammo and 2 crew across the kannons. Or all ammo or all bodies...etc. It's something that was certainly debated

But the list looks hilarious. I would absolutely love to run something like this. The kannons give me pause, but not sure how else you would spend the points without putting in a buffed up looted wagon or something similar. When making a similar list, i kept coming back to the kannons as well, though.

60 points can't really be spent elsewhere...

One vehicle would draw fire, it's not enough points to be worth a squad, and kannons bring in a bit of AT and ranged versatility the rest lacks

I would get the grots and crew... extra crew come in handy for extra wounds.

This would be a ton of fun... absolutely. And no, not gonna get steamrollered by anything that I can think of. An all Terminator army might give you fits but...

Fixed up with some kannon upgrades instead of the 'Eavy Armor on the 2 storm boy nobz and the extraneous boss pole in wazdakka's squad

I was thinking 1 ammo runt each...as grots die quickly and to me the difference of one grot CAN be enough....but the reroll is better. 1 reroll each in consideration that over 4 turns they hit twice-ish, reroll for one fix hopefully. Presuming that as the most stationary shooting target the kannons will die early on...so the insurance of the shot is better than the slightly lower mortality

Not sure how I missed this as a possibility...kommandos can take bosspoles for 5 pts...perhaps worth it considering the importance of every unit staying in battle. If I drop 4 of the ammo/crew grots from the guns I free up 12 points, I can take a bosspole in the 2 kommando squads that don't have snikrot. This leaves me with points unspent...but might be a better use of the 10pts for boss poles.
