    1750 Av13 Spam - Competitive

    Army Explination
The two overlords in catacomb command barges are there to destroy heavy tanks and to allow me to have two groups of four crypteks(not in ghost arcs) for weaker tanks. The 21 necron warriors will be split between the three ghost arcs and advance up the board safely with the annihilation barges and overlords using the two solar pulses. The three heavy destroyers are used for mobile anti tank incase the crypteks are out of range. The three annihilation barges are for anti-infantry/horde. Let me know any improvements that could be made to this list.

The two solar pulses will most likely be used on the opponents first two turns to allow my army to advance and shoot full range while limiting return fire.

    HQ (680pts)
2x Necron Overlord w/ Warscythe, Catacomb Command Barge
2x Harbringer of Destruction w/ eldritch lance, Solar Pulse
6x Harbringer of Destruction w/ eldritch lance

    Troops (273pts)
    21x Necron Warriors

    Dedicated Transports (345pts)
    3x Ghost Arc

    Fast Attack (180pts)
    3x Heavy Destroyers

    Heavy Support (270pts)
3x Annihilation Barge w/ gauss cannon, Twin-Linked tesla destructor

Looks very shooty. I'm from the school of thought that Scarabs should be fit into lists. For the cost, they absolutely chew things up.

This list doesn't look very competitive at all. There's a discussion on these types of Necron lists in AoB's recent Tourny experience. Basically AV13 is tough, and Crypteks can be good, but like his opponent you're putting too many points into them and not enough points into things that really matter.

21 Warriors are nowhere near enough. You need at least 30, if not 40.
You have absolutely no close-combat presence at all. Your Overlords are pre-occupied in Command Barges, and you don't even have any Scarabs (even though they wouldn't do you much good). You need a good close combat unit to support your Cryptek and Warrior units. Wraiths and Lychguard are particular favourites for different reasons.
Tying in with the above point, you're far too shooty. Remember, apart from the Crypteks, your maximum range is 24", and that's if your don't move your Ghost Arks full of Warriors. You will get assaulted, very quickly. Necrons die in Assault, both infantry and vehicles.

What would you remove from the current list to free up points for the wraiths or lychguards? I really like wraiths, but am unsure what to remove to make that happen.

Just remove most of the cryteks. 8 is far to many. Thats one hell of a lot of points on just hq choices. Spend the points on getting 9 more warriors and then try taking stuff out for some type of close combat squad.

I can scale the crypteks down to 4 and keep the two solar pulses, or i can scale the crypteks down to 4 with one solar pulse and drop one of the necron overlords in a command barge. What seems better?

I say keep the 2 solar pulses. NF is very nifty against most armies. Dangerous terrain is really only good against swarms.

Drop the Command Barges, definitely. That frees up 160pts straight off. Drop some Crypteks and that should give you enough points for a unit of Wraiths.

    Does this army look better?

The real question is if i drop the catacomb command barges, what will the two overlords do? I find it more likely that i remove one of the overlords and his command barge so i'm left with one overlord and one group of 4 crypteks with 1 solar pulse.

You attach the Overlords to the Warrior units and offer them close combat support so they don't get completely wiped when they inevitably get assaulted.

One issue is that those Overlords with the Warscyth and catacomb command barge are my only decent way of taking out Av14 type vehicles becuase they are S7 + 2D6.

You don't need to take them out. You have enough Gauss to stun-lock them out of the game.

How is this for a new list? Each of the two overlords will go with a squad of nine necrons in a ghost arc and will advance with the rest of my army using the two solar pulses. The crypteks will all be together and left behind shooting from 36.

Almost perfect. I'd try and squeeze in at least another Whip Coils per Wraith unit, but another two would be more preferable. It'd also be cool to see Phaeron on those Overlords, but that's not quite as necessary.
