    Solo Thunder Hammers (knowledge needed)

I'm working on building a fairly intense custom squad for show, but I need some serious help.

GW doesn't have many of their sprue photos under the models anymore. I need to know, what box sets include Thunder Hammers that are only in one hand? If you know which hand that is even better, but it's not necessary.

Even if you only know of one, throw it up, trying to work on something epic here.

    Thank you gentlemen!

Terminators. As far as I know, that's pretty much it. I think they're all right handed too.

This week I am good-naturedly shaking my fist at: Baragash. For being unreasonably reasonable.
    Sex, drugs and pointy ears.
Cheaphammer 40p: 2000 points of Marines as cheap as possible.
It'll be alright on the Knight - a slow refreshing of my original Grey Knight army.
Cordova: In my head you're eight foot tall, always carry an officer's sabre, and speak like Theoden at the battle of Pelennor Fields.

Grey Knights don't go to heaven: they go to hell and regroup.

Assault Terminators have five thunder hammers, all in their right hand. GW also sells a set of metal hammers and shields. The hammers are right hands with power armour instead of terminator armour, and the shields in that pack don't have hands or arms at all.

If you can't find the contents of a box on GW's site, you might check the Box Contents Project on this forum.

That one is carried in 2 hands, IIRC.

Dr. Manfredel is wrong. That kind of thinking is never justified.

Mine is a one handed hammer... but then again that was an old 2/3ED set now that I think about it... so maybe it's not the same?

Maybe I should check again when I get home just to make sure...

Yeah there used to be more power armored hammers. I actually had a left handed one kicking around a little while ag. Unfortunately, pretty much all those bitz are metal and discontinued.

I have a box of each... but I already assembled the DC from the old 3ED set... the new box I turned into BA Sternguard... hadn't thought of those!

I will check both and see... I think the new hammer was 2 handed... will double check the older bit though.

You might also look outside of GW for the bits you need. Chapterhouse Studios makes a few special thunder hammers that aren't attached to any hands or arms. You could find other sources in the Useful Shops Thread.

The new DC hammer is indeed two handed... but the bits are in two pieces. Most of the hammer, handle and right hand/arm on one bit, left hand/arm and just enough handle to grip on the other bit. It wouldn't take much effort to extend the right handed bit into a full length handle.

The power armor Thunder hammers for the GW kit are actually left handed from what I can tell, which is perfect!

Thank you gentlemen, this project is going to develop slowly, but be a truly awesome set.

I'll be damned. And now I can't find the set I bought two years ago to see if they were right-handed then or left.

Another thing to do which I did for my model with 2 thunderhammers is cut off the blades of a chainsword and square off the end then attach a hammer to the end, Its not the best, but I'm pretty happy with how my turned out.
