City Force
Spoiler
Drakon accepted the apple and bit into, shocked at how good it tasted. Nothing like a fresh, crisp apple to rejuvenate one in the middle of a battle.
Drakon was just about to say something to the mayor when there was a loud crash at the gate and a flaming armadillan burst through, rolling towards the defenders trenches, arrows smashed into it and forced the rolling creature to turn towards Drakon as he stepped away from the wall of the house.
Luckily, the creature veered at the last second and smashed into the wall, falling backwards, quite dead.
The rest of the gate gave way as more armadillans burst through, scaled ones charging in behind them. The crossbow dwarves unleashed a full volley, stalling the attackers, but they continued to charge....
Description of area.
Street with dug in trenches and barricades stretching from one house to another. You could either stand behind the barricade and fight from there, or maybe go up into one of the houses and shoot from a window or roof where there are some crossbow dwarves.

Spoiler
Seeing the King up to his beard in nasty things, Moira and Lunastra charged into the fray to the King’s aid.
The sturdy dwarf was fending off attacks from 8 arms from the two monstrosities before him just as Moira barrelled into one, causing a gash on its side. The creature turned and swung at the barbarian who managed to parry one blow and took a second hit to the chest.
Lunastra hit the same one, allowing the king to focus on the second creature. Lunastra’s glaive was parried as the creature hissed at her.
There was a crunching sound as the King cut off one of the creature’s arms and he took a smack to the head in response.
Moira cut into the creature again as it lashed out at both the warriors. Lunastra took a heavy cut through her armor and repaid the thing by lodging it’s glaive in its stomach.
With a crack of lighting and a spinning upper slash the King laid the creature he was fighting low and Moira and Lunastra coordinated their attacks and cut the remaining beast down.
The King turned to the two warriors. “Thank ye for yer help! Now we nee…..”
A massive rumbling shook the earth around them and the heaving earth through them from their feet. The ground nearby burst open and a massive serpentine scaled form tore from the ground and then dove back into the earth, heading towards the city.
The King stared for a moment as he climbed to his feet….
“Not sure what to do about that….”

Scout Force
Spoiler
Qyro’s arrow flew true and smashed into the creature’s eye and it let out another mind wrenching scream, driving everyone from their feet and forcing them to cover their ears. The wormlike creature shot a lance of dark energy out that tore one of the kneeling dwarves nearly in half and his corpse fell to the ground.
The Jester, having regained his feet, let fly a dagger that tore clear through the creatures magic eye and through the back of its skull, disintegrating before it could hit the wall behind it…
One last shriek drove the Jester from his feet and a magical tingle filled the room. Suddenly the wall in the rear of the room vanished and revealed a massive cavern. The entire floor was covered in moving pods of various sizes.
There was a very dark presence that filled the room, and its physical form revealed itself….
It looked like a gargantuan version of the creatures they had just fought. It’s serpentine body stretching for hundreds of feet. It stared down at the party with a hateful glare of it’s one magical eye. The presence overwhelmed the party and they began to writhe on the ground in agony, trying to get the worm thing out of their heads.
Fools…. What did you expect to accomplish here? The voice smashed into their minds. Low and feminine in nature.
One of the dwarves contorted weirdly and there was a loud pop as his neck snapped.
I am the end of this land. You are nothing but food for my children. The Dark One’s of Warden have gifted me their powers. You have killed my daughters, now you must pay.
Again the party was assaulted by the thing’s power, but Qyro and the Jester managed to partially resist, becoming aware that a very bloody Drevin was trying to crawl towards them, a strange glowing green ball in his hands.
With what seemed like the last of his strength, the dwarf scout leader rolled the ball to the pair and it came to a stop in between them. The ball seemed organic in nature, green pulsing light radiated from within it and a single corklike stopper was sticking out of the top of it.
“It’s a b…..” But the scout leader was no more, the very fact that he had crawled this far while covered in so many wounds was a miracle in itself.
I shall enjoy watching you squirm, weaklings. My newest hatchlings will feast on your living flesh.
The pods around them began to move…

Drakon RALLIES THE TROOPS like a true champion by allowing Altok's staff to burst into bright light, hopefully stunning the scalies with the light before standing behind the barricades and throwing fireballs everywhere.

City Force
Spoiler
Drakon calls the soldier's to action, doing his best to rally them onwards. After seeing his work on the walls, his voice actually carried some weight. A splattering of cheers and warcries went up from the assembled soldiers.
The Mage's staff burst to life and lightly illuminated the area, it wasn't very dark yet so the light didn't have much of an effect.
The Scaled ones smashed into the barricades, clawing at the dwarf and human soldiers while the crossbow dwarves fired down from roofs and windows.
A javelin sailed over the mage's head as he formed a ball of fire in his hands and looked for a target.
The gate entrance was a mess. Smoke drifted from the burning walls and was clogging vision and causing people to cough, the entire barricade was covered in enemy forces trying to battle their way through the lines, but the dwarves seemed to be doing some serious damage to back of the enemy ranks as they came through the gates, keeping the city's forces from being overwhelmed.
The mage must have been a tempting target as another javelin flew the air and bounced off his chainmail. Finding the offending thrower in the crowd, Drakon hurled a fireball at him, but the little scaled one scampered out of the way as the flame clipped the shoulder of scaled one standing behind it.
Another Javelin pinged off Drakon's armor and as he prepared to cast another spell, a massive rumbling began to make its way towards the city. Peering through burning remains of the gate, Drakon could make out a massive upheavel of moving earth headings towards them.

Spoiler
The Jester mustered as much power as he could and with the enouragement of Qyro, who helped the Jester to his feet, he reached to pull the cork out of the strange organic ball. A scream of pure hate hit him though and his muscles froze in place over the cork... There was something else in that scream though... fear?
IMBECILES! You would destroy us all? The self preservation of your species speaks otherwise... Leave the magical device on the ground and run from this place.... And I will let you and your friend live. If you set it off, there is no escape for any of us, and you will be entombed here forever.... Make your choice.
The last remaining dwarf had stopped struggling by then, his eyes void of life....
The Jester felt his strength returning as his hand tightened around the cork, he exchanged glances with Qyro.
Their choice here could affect more than they could know. Sacrifice? Survival? Was that their only choices?

The ranger must have seen something in the Jester's eye, because he took off running like the demons of the 5 hells were after him.
A pure voice rang out as Qyro left the chamber...
"Yippie Ki Yay, Motherfucker!"
The ranger couldn't help but pause... was that the Jester?! What the f....
No Time. Keep running.
Inside the cavern time seemed to slow as the only words ever spoken by the Jester escaped his lips as the organic device sailed through the air. Sir Fluffalot had slipped out of his pouch and was sprinting towards the exit, tabard flapping in the wind, and the Jester turned and began to sprint from the cavern, and the mother of the scaled ones screamed in abject horror as its end sailed towards it.
The uncorked bomb spun through the air, leaving a trail of green gas in its wake. It collided with the giant worm creature and then detonated.
A massive green beam trailed back along where the whisps of gas lingered. They built to an intense brightness... then ignited. The blow evaporated beasts in the room instantly and followed the Jester out the doorway.
Qyro sprinted as hard as he could, and as the explosion went off, he nearly fell to the earth. Regaining his balance, the Ranger sprinted on, harder and harder and pieces of rock fell all around him, he got clipped lightly, but still kept his feet.
A white streak flew past him as Sir Fluffalot made for the exit and Qyro wished with all his might that he had four legs.
An odd sound came to his ears as he dodged another piece of rubble that came loose from the wall.
Jingling...
With a quick glance over his shoulder, Qyro saw the sprinting form of the Jester catching up with him from further back in the cave, a massive grin on his face as he frontflipped over some fallen rock.
"Come on!" Qyro yelled as he pushed himself just a bit harder. The cave behind him was brightening in a greenish aura... the bombs magical blast was quickly gaining on them. He could see daylight ahead though... the exit was near. There was a ledge ahead, all he had to do was leap off of it to be clear of the blast and falling rock.
Then the rock hit him. Qyro was smashed up against the wall and he stumbled forward falling to his knees and he began to crawl forward, gaining his feet but his mind was too disoriented to move quickly. He wasn't going to make it, the blast was nearly on them.
The form of the Jester smashed into the Ranger with enough force to launch him towards the edge just as the blast caught up with them, flinging Qyro high into the air. The earth came swiftly to meet him and everything went black.
---------------------------
Moira and Lunastra covered their eyes as the bright light exploded from behind the ranks of scaled ones, who had let out a collective scream shortly before. As the light faded....
"At them! They are weak!" The King bellowed and struck out into the scaled ones ranks, carving a path through an enemy that seemed halfway between fighting and fleeing. The giant burrowing creature's had gone mad, breaking the surface of the earth and flinging hundreds of scaled ones and armadillans into the air and then crushing hundreds more as their gigantic bodies fell back to the ground."
Lunastra and Moira hacked their foes down and soon found their enemy fleeing before them, their numbers decimated. The worms, driven insane, sped off into the distance to places unknown.
The Dwarves began to Cheer.
------------------------
Drakon found himself locked in combat with two scaled ones, Fending off one with his staff and then planting a fireball in the face of another. The barricade had been overrun and he was the last pocket of resistance with the mayor, the crossbow dwarves (Their quivers long empty), and some elite guard.
The killing field around them was full of corpses, both friend and foe. Drakon bled from a dozen wounds and saw his death heading for him in the form of a rolling Armadillan.
Before the creature could hit him, there was a light that shone in the distance, far beyond the wall and the creatures near them screamed in agony and the charging armadillan collapsed to the earth and slid to a stop near Drakon's feet. Who calmy whispered "Flame Jet" and burnt the thing through the eye and into its brain.
The elite guard and the dwarves drove the scaled ones back out of the gate and their enemy soon fled the field.
The remaining soldiers, tired as they were, began to cheer.
---------------------------
Qyro awakened, groaning as pain lanced across his entire body. He lay still for a moment, surrounded by rocks that had been launched out of the cave, and tried to gain his bearings.
Slowly, carefully, the ranger pushed himself to his feet. His sword was nowhere to be seen, and his bow had been shattered by the shoulder ram of the Jester...
Jingle.
Qyro's head whipped around. There was no way the Jester could have survived, he hadn't made it even to the ledge before the blast caught his companion.
Jingle.
There it was again. Qyro began to furtively search the rocks, it had come from over here, he swore it.
Jingle.
Behind that rock! Smiling the ranger limped around a massive boulder and said.
"You made i..... Sir Fluffalot?" On the ground rolling in an adorable ball was Sir Fluffalot playing with a single bell from a jester hat. A small blood stain on it.
----------------------
7 Days Later
The ceremony was beautiful as the reserves of dwarves arrived, bearing food and workers to help rebuild the city. Corpses and rubble had been cleared from the city, and a great banquet had been setup in the town square.
Dwarven musicians played celebratory tunes and the civilians that survived joined in, trying to forget for a moment their lost loved ones in thanks for the Heroes of their city. They had earned it.
On a wooden dias stood those heroes. A blackguard, a bruised barbarian, a ranger with an arm cast, a master of flames with a gash above his eye, and most odd of all... a white cat wearing a paladin's tabard and a minature jester hat.
The mayor stepped up to the pulpit.
"Dwarves of MountainHome! Citizens! And of course, our heroes! We stand here today only because of these brave women and men. Their actions in this dark time are a testament to greatness. A story that will be told for centuries. We honor them here tonight!"
A great cheer erupted from those gathered.
"Lunastra and Moira. Your fearsome charge with the dwarves on the front lines was bravery in itself. You saved a King of dwarves and bought us within the city enough time to survive. We owe you our lives.
Drakon, Master of Flames. You stood by me on the walls and used your power in an awe inspiring way to drive away the attackers. You personally saved my life behind the barricade. We owe you our lives.
Qyro. You went into the heart of the enemies lair. What horrors and pain you endured while there, could only have been horrid beyond compare. You experienced loss first hand, and your actions turned the tide of the battle.... we owe you our lives."
The mayor paused upon seeing the cat, and crouched near it, scratching under its chin and causing the mini hat to jingle.
"Loss is everywhere. An unnamed Jester sacrificed his life so that we could continue on. We will never forget that, his tale shall be told in mime forever more. We owe you our lives and commend you to eternal rest and performances in the afterlife..."
"We have lost much, but we can rebuild. Thanks to all of you."
Another cheer went up, this one more powerful than the other, and the feast began. And rewards were given... the Party would not be wanting for a long time....
--------------
Days later, when the party went their seperate ways, they exited out the front gates into the world beyond, to where was a different tale, one that would surely be written in the lore of time.
As they left, they passed by the statue of jester. A wry grin on his face, a knife in his hand, and a cat at his side.

really well done, man. I stand corrected for real RPG on forum...it required the extra turns thing...which was annoying at times...but you told the story and it was a good one

Thanks guys, it was my pleasure.
Drakon, with GURUS and WoS going on. I doubt i'll be able to start either the 2nd campaign of GURPS or even Tribes until those are finished or nearly finished.
