Broadsides seem to be gone.
Hey guys,
I don't know if this is just because they're out of stock, or if they're out of production, but the Broadside XV8 Battlesuits are no longer on the Heavy Support page of the Tau store on Games Workshop.
There's others that I can't find. Shadowsun, Krootox, hounds, pathfinders, etc.
I'm not sure if I'm being paranoid, but is this possibly an example of some of the changes in the Tau Codex?
If this is an example of the changes to come, I hope they replace them.
EDIT: Damn, It says I need to have 10 posts to post links. Could someone check the Tau pages in Games Workshop to see if it's just me?

Well, I'm glad that they're only gone for a while, but they'll be a lot more expensive as finecast, won't they?
They've making some of the best units the Tau has to offer, and made them expensive.
Are they doing this for other armies as well?

Well, If there's one thing that might be good, it would be that any left overs of the originals, they'll probably sell them at a lower price.
And I've never used Finecast. I'll be interested in seeing what it's like.

Ha!
Those old metals are gone, dude, melted down either for for reuse or to sell back the raw materials. Honestly, I can't think of a single time in the 6 years that I've been in the hobby of any kind of GW sale.
This company is legit crazy though. Price increase of 50% because they are changing materials? That kind of stuff is nuts.

*Sighs* Well, we still buy them. They must be doing something right.
That, or we're all too rich and too stupid.

You're welcome to try and add those to the cart. The 6th edition lizardmen Armybook was floating around on the site for a good four years after their 7th dropped, and I tried to order some Razordons right before they went to finecast (and they were still in their correct spots) only to have the order voided.
Real annoyed that I think I missed my chance at Shadowsun and Snikrot. I wanted to support my FLGS and get them through it, but they may have not placed the order yet.

This is going to sound ignorant as hell, but I think half the point is that you're meant to treat the figures almost like jewellery, or perhaps china.
I'd personally cut the resin away, rather than risk breaking something I'm paying €20 for.
And there's a few things I've heard which I like. The ability to bend the plastic, for one, it gives a bit more customization to the figures.
If there's one thing I'll say, it's that I hope they release something which puts a protective film over the figures. Not just the purity seal, which I consider only protects the paint. I guess a clear varnish would be ideal.
