1000pts Termie list...now possibly not so termie?

So had originally been planning to look at a Necron force for my return to 40k however after reading more fluff I have realised that I want to return to an imperium force. This way however is still something different and let's me play around a bit with the new Psyker rules

    Librarian 150pts

    Terminator Squad
    Psycannon 225pts

    Terminator Squad
    Psycannon 225pts

    Terminator Squad
    Nemesis Falchions 205pts

    Nemesis Dreadknight
    Greatsword
    Heavy Psycannon 195pts

Obviously I'm going to be out numbered by everything I face but at least I still have 3 scoring units. Had a spare 5 pts so stuck a set of Falchions in with the squad that my Librarian will be going with just to use them up. Not sure how practical this sort of thing will be at this points points level. Should point out I've not yet bought anything so anything can be changed if it makes sense.

Edit: Forgot to say im also looking for opinions on the best way to split swords/halberds/hammers? Im normally an all he same kinda guy when it comes to options like this but I feel I should break that mould and start to mix it up

I'd really suggest buying Codex powers for Grey Knights. They give a far more guaranteed set of buffs to the army/squad as a unit than the more randomised Rulebook powers. But by all means play around with them and have fun - isn't that the point? Also, I think you can roll for another power for each one you've bought, so buying some powers would still be a good idea. You may end up not being able to use them all however, so you'd need to think about that.

Terminator squads are OK, I'd really suggest a two Halberd, two Sword and a Hammer approach with a Psycannon. Falchions just don't seem to cut it really.

NDK is cool, and that's good enough to take, and if you do get one, do not glue in any of the right hand pieces to the wrist. They're plug fit, so you can change them whenever you like. I'd also recommend going with basic Fists (+1 attack, and at the moment str10 until it gets FAQd again) a Teleporter and an Incinerator. Adds mobility and deals with large units pretty well. If you really want to go for bigger bangs, take an Incinerator and a Psycannon. That'll light things up quite nicely.

Grey Knights don't go to heaven: they go to hell and regroup.

Yeah agree with EB, codex power always and a stave if you can afford it on the libby. Hvy Psycannon is IMO crap for its points, I personally think they just wanted to give us a blast templet weapon. Hell this is the only time ill say this but I'ed rather the Gatling Psilencer (which also looks so much cooler) with 12 shots over a blast weapon. Then again I hate having to roll for scatter which I always seem to do sooo bad on.

Cheers for the feedback guys. So would you say drop the cheapest squad and maybe see what else I can fit in. Dreadnought+more wargear/powers or something? I was originally looking at the Gatling psilencer because as you said it looks awesome and I loved the 12 shots but I wasn't keen on ap- but then again with 12shots some are bound to fail the save. I wont glue it in so I can try some different options though. I'm more using this thread to get a rough idea so I know what to buy. Will report back with a different list. In general though is a terminator/dread focused list a good idea? I'm not really fussed about wins/losses but I don't want to have a horrible unwinnable list either.

Terminators got a pretty good buff this edition as most (key word is most) Power weapons are AP3 or higher, so now dont fear being pulled into combat as much. Dreads can be fun but normaly become priority targets due to being kind of imposing. Most people will tell you take 2 or don't take them at all, me I say go for it. The one thing your going to have a tuff time with is objective based missions/short table edge deployment. Footsloggings main disadvantage is you will never cover as much ground as a mech list, its just a fact of life. Also doesn't help that LRs are in the hvy slot with no way of getting one as a dedicated transport. You could always think about getting the Storm Raven in a higher points game tho to improve on your speed. EB hates them because the model but they are pretty useful, hard to hit, and fast as hell now with 6th flyer rules

But the Heavy Psycannon is str7, ap4 (now all the way across when Vs vehicles) and Rending. Ideal for blasting apart light infantry and forcing things to stay in cover ... to then get toasted by the Heavy Incinerator. Sure, I'd take a six shot Psycannon any day of the week, but as it is, it's fine I think for what it's meant to do. And if all else fails, you can still just hits things.

Correction GKnight: I detest the model with a passion, but it's usefullness cannot be denied. Storm Eagle all the way.

Yeah just sitting here reworking the list. Contemplating going with a incinerator/psilencer or psycannon combo on the Dreadknight as I prefer the look of that and it still keeps its doomfists. Not sure why I picked the greatsword really. Think going above 1000pts will be a lot easier in terms of choice it's just trying to get the core right to build from

The Greatsword is cool, end of. If you want to go with it, go with it. But perhaps at higher points games where you can squeeze it in. Teleporter is pretty much a must however, albeit an expensive one.

Yeah really like the Dreadknight model but maybe not gonna work at this level especially if I was going to go with a teleporter which does seem like a pretty sweet option upon further reading. Also not sure if only having two troop choices is a good idea so unless I switch out the Dreadknight for a dreadnought and spread the leftover points around and keep the three troops. I'm sure not going Termie would make this a lot easier

Ok so picked up a box of terminators and working on painting them. However after spending more time reading the rules and codex im really not sure all terminators are the way to go also a dreadknight on its own is just going to draw fire. So with the other half going away for a couple weeks now is a perfect time to crack on with some painting im hoping to decide a bit better what I want to paint.

Librarian, warding stave, wrath of titan 190
    5 terminators, psycannon 225
    10 strike squad, 2 psycannon 220
    10 strike squad, 2 psycannon 220

Comes to 855. I feel this is a bit more solid. Two strike squads deploy to control objectives, libby and terminators deep strike in. What would be a good way to spend the remaining poings?

Might of titan* and you certainly want a few more powers. Warp rift, sanctuary and possibly shrouding and quickening are all useful.

Also, you'll want to get some transports for those strikes. Possibly combat squad em' and toss a psyback (razorback, TL heavy bolter and psybolts) to carry half of each squad.
