Larks Record of things i've painted and modelled (lots of pics)
SO.
everyone has a model they love. One model we love the most, usually from when we began gaming. Mine is eltharion.
Many moons ago, i bought some high elves as my first ever box, when i was much younger, i bought some silver helms and some spearmen. The GW i was at had a lucky dip thing going, spend over £30, get a free thing, and i reached in and grabbed something, turned out to be eltharion. He was my first metal and i still have him today. Ever since then he has been in his metal form, because i was too afraid to paint him.
So he became lost in the pile of things in my various Boxes and i thought him to be lost.
So.
Imagine my suprise when i was going through looking for a bit and found his sword. Proof he hadn't dissapeared. So i dug him out and painted him, I'm not a great painter and he is a little chipped unfortunately ( i will touch him up soon). I decided to upload some pics because he is probably the best model i've painted technique wise.
Any and all critique is welcome! (note, i didn't really wash this as it was done pre wash mostly and i wanted to try shading)

Okay digging through high elves, eltharion isn't the best i've done. I'm gutted the guys staff broke, as i was really proud of the detailing, but as ever any critique is welcome!
So here are the mages, The bit i'm most proud of is the detailing on the cloak, it wwas one of those looking back and going "how the fuck did i do that" moments.
SO yeah, critiques please

I think you did a fine job painting them. A wash couldn't hurt here or there, but other than that, they look great.
I know how tough it can be painting High Elves. Primarily, I play Orks for 40k. I do have a couple hundred dollars of HE though. Been working on the metal Teclis model I got at the store awhile back... Painting the faces and eyes on these guys is such a pain.
Anyways. Great job!

Looks fine to me, a very solid TT standard to both.
The photos have bleached them quite a bit however, but they're still pretty good.

Next up are some conversions i whacked up today (apologies to @sneggy for stealing his idea a bit, ) Of a few feudal guard models, so basically, empire but a bit spaced up. I used guard bodies, then tried to make some cool looking weapons, i'm happy with the Sgt most and thespecial weapon gunner, could pass him off as a flamer or a melta i guess. .
I'm using spoilers because 1/ i love them 2/ it's easier
First the vox, this was simple, just a guard body with an empire musician, i like to think they use music like on ye olde battlefields to transmit orders and i had a flute and like the flute... so yeah
Vox

Commissar next, this guy has a pirate hat. I don't know why. i like to think that the army use more discipline officers instead of commissars per se, so he has a las pistol and a 'power weapon' which is his whip, so yeah. Yarr! don't be retreatin'
Commissar

Objective marker; well, it's an objective marker. WOo....
Marker

Special weapon trooper: he has a generic special weapon, decided i didn't like the flamer tank, so built that oin then just added a repeater handgun essentially. The shield has no functional use, but i think it looks quite cool.
Special weapon

The Sgt is my pride and joy, his pistol is again extremely simple, bhut i'm really happy with how it came out. he has a hammer because... well. It looked freaking cool i think.
Sgt

So yeah, i'm happy with these guys and will crack on painting them soon (and tyrion too!)

It's an interesting and unique combination of 16th/17thC styles and futuristic. Persever with it, I think it'll make for a great army.

These have been made largely as a one off from the bits i had, i know sneggy is planning on doing one and i don't wanna steal his thunder, also i'm steering away from armies and instead gonna start doing one off painting cool models and conversions. Myt biggest idea so far is turning Astorath the Grim into Kharne the Betrayer
