Dark Vengeance - Chaos Nurgle. Your thoughts?

I decided to go for a Papa Nurgle Army and it was a perfect timing, Dark Vengeance just arrived at the stores. It is my first time to paint nurgle, and I wonder what you guys think? Should they be more "Dirty and rotten" or is this good enough. I think they still feel kinda clean.

Looking good. Nice colour combinations and the power claws look nice.

The photos are a tiny wee bit distant and dark, though, to tell if the model needs more dirt. Any chance of some more close-up photos?

    That looks awesome!
I really like the light purple, it compliments the green and breaks up the armour colour nicely.

Here is the updated pictures. First lesson i learnt was, just because you all of a sudden know how a camera works doesn't mean you take great pictures

Ths nurgle marines are my experiment for learning the new color range and to set a standard of how to paint my army. I also painted a cultist and gave him a bleached skin with green undertone to give him a slightly sick look.

I hope this pics are better

Funnily enough, I read an article today that said the Dark Vengeance marines weren't suitable for Nurgle... I think you proved them wrong. Nice work.

    Great work so far!

And I think you achieved a sick skintone on that cultist, maybe a bit too green for my liking, but good nontheless. Personally I wouldn't have recognised it as skin in the first place if I didn't know that model ...

I Agree on the skin. Gonna paint another cultist and try get the skin tone look sick with just a small hint of green.

Really nice! Lovely greens and the eyes really stand out. Good job!

I think with the cultist it's the mask that confuses it, it's almost skin tone which makes you think it's not a mask. Looking good though. Now lets see the Hellbrute!

Good stuff. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the Hellbrute.

If you want a slightly sick colour,

just paint it like normal pale skin and then add one or two very, very thin glazes of green afterwards

OR add the tiniest amount of green to your 'normal' skin colours while painting it

OR simply paint it with Rotting Flesh (Nurgling Green) paint. I tend to mix the greener flesh colour with standard flesh (or they still have a habit of looking a bit too green).

Nurgle is pretty much just zombies in space, anyway.

Don't forget that dead and diseased skin can turn some very interesting colours.

If you want some proper research (and don't mind being so grossed out you might want to vomit), try Googling 'dead body' and/or 'rotting body' and looking at the images.

Now, I'm off to be sick.

    Some more stuff

Im back again with an update. I have worked with green stuff latley, for the first time. I tryed to get some use of the terminators and marines i got in the Dark Vengeance package. i converted the Marines and Terminators into Nurgle zombies of doom..or something like that and gave them a speed paint job to get them ready for battle. I also made a Daemon Prince from an 15 year old Void model that i can use until i can afford a real one. The Daemon also got a speed paint job so i could battle with him.
