    I deserve a freaking medal.

Congratulation to me .... I was able to make my wife play warhammer 40k , and i was able to make that fun for her.

In 1 week we played 2 games... She choose Tyranids in the 7 race we had available at home. 1 st game was me VS her. Was only a 500pts to show her the rope. She completly destroyed my marine. She had a MC list. I have no clue how to make a good Marine list at 500pts ... (i dont even think its possible)

    Tervigon , 3 warrior , 3 ripper swarm , Carnifex
    VS
    Chaplain , 10 Marine , 5 Marine , Dreadnought

Last game was suppose to be her vs my youngest , but the eldest wanted to play so it was Me and my wife vs our 2 kids. 1200pts game. She really enjoyed the game even if we lost. Her favorite unit so far is the Trygon and Tervigon.

So I deserve a medal because now my wife is playing and enjoy it

Comment: Genestealer completly suck if they dont outflank. 10 Genestealer with toxic sacs for 170. They lost 4 on their way , lost another 3 on overwatch (didnt roll high enough on charge) , kids ignore me in their shooting phase, recharge again lost another 3.... 1 Make it ... and he got destroy in the CC. I really love the overwatch thing and its not a complain about it. But some unit suffer quite a lot because of it. I will definitly go with 30 naked Hormangant instead of 10 Genestealer.

Another significant other answers the call of the hive mind. That's the trick, give her monsters!

I LOVE that your entire family can play together. I hope they are all involved in the painting/building as well....or will be

I swear these two can pull more ladies than Johnny Depp. My wife also has a soft spot for her 2 Hive Tyrants as well.

I so hope that in a couple of years I'll be able to play with my sons as well. I fear the wife may be a lost cause though...

    Congratulations, durabigael

Do we get some battle reports to read in the future? Would be cool IMO

Maybe they are cute in an perverse sense?
Or they are a trick to confront their inner fears of everything with more then two legs?

Just throwing some ideas around though

I think it is because they are best female-led/dominated army in 40K. This thread has me wanting to go out to closet and pull them out of storage and dust of my codex. At least that is how I think of them, sort of like, say, fire ants. I play orks mainly though I also have a small army of tyranids. Who doesn't love the bugs?

Seriously though, I haven't seen it and I've met quite a few women now who are into 40K, though most of them are more into the painting than the playing it seems. Most of the women I've met have armies that are various flavors of space marine, though orks also seem to be popular.

    Indeed!

If not for her I would own every model and book GW produces. But I would have to store them somewhere because I'd be living in a van down by the river...

That's so weird, my girlfriend hasn't taken up the hobby yet, but is really impressed by the Tyranids as well. Maybe if I sell it a little bit more...

Mrs Pox has 7 hive tyrants! (no seriously I don't know why either!) actually lets think about it:

2nd ed original hive tyrant for cuteness sake. (metal)
3rd ed converted hive tryrant with wings (metal)
5th ed hive tyrant (metal - magnetised)
5th ed hive tyrant on foot in (finecast)
    swarmlord (plastic)
    2* flying hive tyrant (plastic)
umm no forgeworld hive tyrants yet it seems....

most female players encountered for 40K it is either tryranids or deamons (never encountered one with a sisters army but plenty of the previous two.)

I Will answer this Question about Why women seem to have a thing for Tyranids, its simple Tyranids are the most Dangerous Predators in 40k verse & in our world Despite what any body says Women are The most Dangerous Predators in the world,They have Had wars fought over them,They can be uneducated, have no talent in anything, and no job and if their some what good looking still end up,with more than most men who have any one of the three i mentioned, lol and yeah to anybody who can get their Girlfriend/Wife into 40k you do deserve a Medal/Case of Beer, Hats off to yeah,

The reason why she love tyranid is because she don t want to move many model. The only small model she like is the termagant coming out of the Tervigon.

She have 0 interest in assembling and painting. So its only playing and she get bore with big game. So the game are always gonna be around 750-1000. A MC list at 750 is quite difficult to deal with.

My suggestion for anyone that want to convince their gf to play , Play a really small game (500pts)and make a list where you dont really stand a chance. I tried my best to hold the first game but lets face it ... at 500pts marine don t really have much choice to play around. Even with the minimum troop 2 Squad of 5 + HQ is minimum 280pts. And that squad will not do much.

I cannot wait the day where she gonna ask me to buy a model she don t have , or an extra one she want. The tyranid HS is kinda low , we have 3 Carnifex + 1 Trygon.

Your wife and @LadyMorticia would get on like a house on fire. In fact, are you sure we're not sharing the same wife?

I would say that it is your SO that deserves the medal, for being willing to engage herself in your hobbies.

I got my GF into playing M:TG, don't think she will be trying wargames though.
