I WAS going to do a Necron list, but I don't have any choice anymore do I? WHy not just say "only if you have no choice (Necrons, Sisters of Battle, Imperial Guard) may you have a squad past the pistol rule, but no more then 2 troop choices"

Otherwise my list was going to be:

Necron Lord, Warscythe, Destroyer Body, Lightning Field
Deciever
10 Flayed Ones
7 Flayed Ones
10 Warriors
10 Warriors
10 Scarabs
10 Scarabs
10 Scarabs

Flayed Ones stay in cover and wait for the Deciever to come along with cover of the Scarabs and the Lord.

Also possible is to replace 1, 2 of 3 Scarabs with 3, 6 or 9 Wraiths.

I was trying to do this right but what would end up happening is they shoot one squad at a time and none of the rest would advance. To do this right they'd make sure to shoot the ones around Grimaldus to get them out of his influence.

Still, that amount of marines at 2000 points is pretty ludicrous.

Don't normal CSM's come with BP/CW?

They come bog-standard with Bolt Pistol, Close Combat Weapon AND Bolter.
