    Knee!!

I've not bothered with my painting blog for a while, it kind of felt like I was talking to myself after a while. But I thought it might worth posting a special project log of the Knight I'm doing for my Sisters of Battle.

Tonight I finished Despondent Dave, cause you can't have a base that big without something dieing on it:

The goo is that "Nurgles Rot" technical paint from GW, thought I'd give it a whirl. Now it's had time to dry out, I need to put a bit more on the actual wounds as it's thinned out a bit.

Yeah that's a chunk of slate. My inlaws neighbours have a slate garage roof that drops me little presents every now then on to the inlaws drive. It's been a theme for this army.

Well, with big hunks of slate on your bases, I don't imagine you have any trouble with them falling over!

Awesome. I've always thought larger models look way better with bases like this.

The legs are together (without armour for painting porpoises). I wanted to do a full leg repositioning effort on this, and it is possible. But having seen a build along, involving redoing all the pistons around the swash plate at the ankle, cutting, repositioning and filling the knee joint, then cutting out casting and repositioning the hip joint bolt....... a minor toe job is all that's going to happen:

Just caught this, nice work payneib, im a great believer in good base work, in general terms its a much neglected part of the model, I know what you mean about the blog, it does feel like your not sure if people are interested at times, but I look at the total views number which still seems to click up, so I guess people are less inclined to comment nowadays lol, anyways likeing your basework, looking forward to the finished article..... MD

And what are the achievements of your fragile Imperium? It is a corpse rotting slowly from within while maggots writhe in its belly. It was built with the toil of heroes and giants, and now it is inhabited by frightened weaklings to whom the glories of those times are half-forgotten legends. I have forgotten nothing and my wisdom has expanded far beyond mere mortal frailties. ... Ahriman of the Thousand Sons.

Legs eleven! Really happy with the gold. Added some splatter once the legs were glued down (and used a bit more goo to cover up some dried PVA hanging around under Despondent Dave). I promise I'll get the big camera out when it's complete! Lol

PS. Sorry if the pictures come out sideways, the uploader is being weird for me, dunno why.

The torso frame is done. Happy with that. Just need to finish up the armoured parts on the frame when I paint the roof etc.

Looks good! Are you glueing the torso to the legs? Or are you keeping him a bit more mobile in his poses?

Definitely not gluing at the waist, mostly for transport purposes. Also hoping to not glue at the shoulders, but that may cause issues with magnetising the pauldrons. I'll see when I come to it.

Nearly there on the torso. The quarter panels look epic in the flesh, really crisp and neat.
