    "Official" Airsoft Thread

With credit to EdmundBlack for suggesting a main topic, we get the "official" airsoft thread. Seems every so often a new topic on the subject pops up so now its all here. Pictures of kit, pictures of yourself in the field, questions on the game, stick it all down!

Ill start the proceedings by showing off my new armoury, cause im so chuffed with it

    Nice M4.

Is there a minimum age to at least try airsoft?

technically you have to be 18 to buy a gun, but My parents just do all that crap and I go out and shoot mine (in the backyard or in the wash area near us) Once I get older I want to either get a SCAR or maybe an M14 for classic Army.

Thanks, I like my M4. "SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLER FRIEND!"

I may be a smidge misinformed on this, but my site has a minimum age of 14 with an accompanying adult. Under 18 you cant buy a gun, but can rent or have one gifted to you. This is all UK law though. For US law I think your point of contact would be Technomagi.

The M4 is seconds out of the box at the time of that photo and of course has had the sticker removed by now

    ..

    *looks shifty*

Tread, Id love to join the guard but I just sold my g36c. No lasgun for me

Although I did think about making a las type flashider for an L96. I reckon thats the only sniper rifle chunky enough to be feasable as a las-weapon.

Not quite... It's a lasgun conversion based off commonly available pats for the G36 and a few custom made details...

SL-9, it fits with out G36 to lasgun conversion nicely....

Nice touch. I like the SL-9 but ive not come across a site that lets you use semi auto snipers. Anything thats not bolt action has to be kept sub 360fps.

I was gonna get an SL8 and drum mag so I could make the main assault rifle from F.E.A.R, but the cost put paid to that.

You seemto be the man in the know about augs; my friend just got a civvy model aug and wants to put an M4 - s system type front end on it. Is this even do-able? If so how daunting a task is it likely to be?

Send him my way so I can beat him to death with it...

I assume it's the RIS handguard he's after? Not knowing precisely how it attaches I can't be certain, but I'm thinking that there's no easy way to attach it to the barrel group on an AUG. And bodged method is likely to leave to too weak to actually support any of the crap people like to dangle off their M4's...

Nexus?? There's no shortage of airsoft shops in the UK... You've just got to be able to prove you've got a sie membership to buy any guns...

He'll mean site membership. Playing 3 games over >2 months lets you join a site and gets you the right to buy guns.

    Tis all very bureaucratic.

Indeed. i think he wants to put the ris on it so he can mount a moscart; hes got 'nade envy after I bought mine.

Aye, I meant site membership... my typing skills provide suction... Haven't played any nexus events, but I've heard good things about them...

There's far more elegant ways to mount an M203 on an AUG (along with a rather expensive, but lovely, M203 mount á la the real version)... I'll dig out the thread on arnies about one of the simpler (and better looking) ways and pass it on to you...

Thanks tread, Ive passed the thread on to him.

Just out of curiosity, what grenades do you use in your launcher and is there any supplier you'd reccommend. Ive been looking at a few and their either too expensive for the mo or HK based.

Nice thread! I have a question plz...

Do you have to keep the orange tip on your airsoft guns? I read somewhere that you have to keep the orange tip on your airsoft guns to be legal?
