    Painting Inventory Challenge 2016!

I have to apologise for the death of last year's topic, I attempted to copy it and somehow seem to have deleted it

This is a bit of fun, to challenge or enforce one of the major wargaming sterotypes The idea is to keep track through the year of the models you have bought, assembled and painted. The goal at the end of the year is to have painted more then you bought. i.e. an overall reduction in the massed pile of plastic!

Check back in as you make headway - perhaps once a month and of course blogs and the like are fair game.

Anything purchased in 2015 but that has not yet turned up yet (e.g. kick starters) still counts against you if it turns up in 2016! (So I'm going to fail this every which way )

    So my report is:

    Models bought: ?
    Terrain bought: ?
    Models assembled: ?
    Terrain elements assembled: ?
    Models painted: ?
    Terrain elements painted: ?

    Achievement Score: 21.2%
    ([Assembled + Painted]/2)/Bought

If you want to keep a list as well, that's up to you, for example mine would be:

    Models bought {}:

    Terrain bought {}:

    Models assembled {}:

    Models painted {}:

    Models assembled: 54
    Models painted: 21

Loads of Assembly in January. Fair bit of painting too. I'm running a monthly budget (which I'll keep off here I think) too so shouldn't wildly overbuy too badly this year.
Last year I bought 151 and painted 151. Got to improve on 100%.

Might as well give this one a go. The other challenge got me to get the lead out on my Alpha Legion, so might as well

    January 2016
Models bought: 41 (BAC set, plus 5 Mor Deythan)
Models assembled: 41 (can't stand to have stuff sitting around on sprue...)
    Models painted: 14

Actually pretty proud of January...not a lot of models painted, but the vast majority of it was terrain, which I've been putting off forever. Knocked out 5 of GW's craters, a set of Imperial Defense Lines, three ruined buildings, and got my AL tank painted up (then promptly sold it). Looking like this month will be similar, since I'm already almost done with the second IDL set, a bunker and a bastion. Just gotta fight the urge to get a Castellum Stronghold or two until my current stuff is all painted.

    Oh, cool!
My new years resolution this year is actually to finish 1 mini-project (f.e. 1 squad, 1 mini, 1 terrain etc.) each week. I have managed to do so thus far, so hopefully this challenge should help me keep to the resolution!

    Models bought/received in 2016:

    AoS
    - Age of Sigmar box set - all assembled.
    - Malignants Start Collecting box set - still in box
    - Dryads - Still in box

    40k
    - Broadside Battlesuit - Still in box
    - Tau Start Collecting box set - Still in box

    Progress:

    January
Week 1: Finished 5 Stormcast Eternal Liberators
Week 2: Terrain week: Finished 2 Baleful Realmgates, 2 Craters, 1 Objective, 1 dryad (test model)
Week 3: Finished 20 Khorne Bloodreavers
Week 4: Finished 5 Stormcast Eternal Liberators (--> All liberators from box set finished)

    February
Week 5: Thus far finished 1 Korgorath, started on 1 Bloodsecrator, 3 SE Paladins.

Here are my totals so far for 2016, huge improvement over the last two years:

Models purchased: 5 Nobz, 5 Chaos Cultists, 22 Boyz, 1 Trukk, 20 Bloodreavers, 5 Blood Warriors, 1 Khorgorath, 1 Bloodstoker, 1 Bloodsecrator, 1 Mighty Lord of Khorne, 62 Total

Models painted: 12 Tankbustas, 6 Bomb Squigs, 10 Gretchin, 1 Runtherd, 1 Converted Big Mek, 1 Boss Nob, 1 Battlewagon, 1 Trukk, 1 Warbiker, 34 Total

On the Table: 2 Warbikers, 4 Lootas, 1 Mek, 22 Boyz, 2 Boss Nobs, 20 Bloodreavers, 5 Blood Warriors, 1 Khorgorath, 1 Bloodstoker, 1 Bloodsecrator, 1 Mighty Lord of Khorne, 60 Total

Yeah... picking up half of Age of Sigmar has really dented my progress. I've been AoS-curious and this was the cheapest, easiest way to get started. I'm not even sure if I'll "really" paint them, or just randomly add a color here and there every once in a while for kicks...

Do textured bases count? Because most of this past month, I've been spray-priming bases, giving them a couple quick layers of Mournfang Brown, then applying a liberal dose of Agrellan Earth. Once that does its thing, I give it a little Agrax Earthshade for some color variation and a dash of Lahmian Medium to ensure that it stays in one piece. Looks quite decent!

    I've done about 40 25mms, 20 32mms and 10 75mm Cavalry Bases.

Alright, I'm all done buying for February, and there's no chance I'm gonna finish my first Salamanders squad by tomorrow (still need basing stuff to come in the mail anyways) so here's my count for the month:

    Models bought: 13
    Models assembled: 11 (2 were single-piece sets)
    Models painted: 4

As in January, pretty proud here. The 4 models painted included an aquila strongpoint, fortress of redemption, and a vengeance weapon battery, so no small task. I've got some more stuff coming in March (2 dreadnoughts, some breacher siege marines and a couple of turrets for the two Castellum strongholds I just snagged) too, and I'm now shifting focus gradually towards painting my actual armies again. Gonna alternate between Marines and Zone Mortalis tiles until those are done, so my March painted count should actually be higher. Woo!

A trip to WHW has put a dent in my percentage. The Walking Dead kickstarter is going to put an even bigger one in it when that arrives! Lol

I'm doing mine cumulative for a running total of the year. Started playing Kings of War so found myself needing an army, cue digging through a bunch of shoeboxes of minis and finding almost 300 skaven.
Have painted up a horde of spear warriors, 3 rat brutes, a shredder and a warlock engineer.
Also picked up a Brood Horror, Doomwheel, Plague Furnace and 5 wolf rats (thanks @payneib !)
Operating at roughly 180% bought to painted ratio and hoping to increase that further since I own most of my Skaven/ratkin already and am going to be mostly focussing on that. Though the Waaagh Ghazzy book might distract me a little. Plus I still have a handful of daemons to do. Then decisions on what to take to the forum meet and any painting required for that. It never ends!

So the discontinuing of a bunch of Fantasy stuff forced my hand on buying models to complete armies I am halfway through. Still got plenty of painting done though I certainly hit a wall. I think 20 of the 27 models for this month happened in the opening two weeks. Then it all just slowed right down. I'm a week into April and have painted 1 model.

Man I have fallen off the face of the Earth as far as this thread is concerned. I don't really know how else to do this, so I'll just start with March.

I was gifted the starter box for House Goritsi last month. Haven't assembled any of the models yet, but adding an army of werewolves and vampires to my existing collection of sea monsters and samurai demons.
