I'll come out of my lurker hole to add my vote to the spinnies pile.

In all seriousness though, they look great! Being new (for a third time) to painting, these give me something to aspire to! Keep on with the good work, EB.

EB brings all the boys to the yard, he could teach us, but he'd have to...spin them right round, baby right round...

Practice, Patience, Persistence. Simple as that. And go read the articles Michael posted up, they're awesome. Otherwise, just go for it, make mistakes, learn to recognise which ones to keep and how to remedy those you don't. And black lining. Tidy the edges, glaze like you mean it and enjoy it.

Moar Deathwatch Superfriends! This time, a Stalker Kill Team, aka, Synchronised Reloading Squad. That's what you get with one single pair of arms for the stalker boltgun. Thing is though, one in a squad means nothing. A squad of them though ... ooooh yeah. Going to use these guys for my Kill Team games with another dude hefting an Infernus Heavy Bolter. Should sort stuff out.

    Anyway, pics:

    Space Wolf:

    Novamarine:

    Ultramarine:

    Dark Angel:

    Brazen Claw:

Iron Hand, and their squad leader (hence the "proper" armour):

    Group Pic:

Also painted up a single Minotaur Marine too, to add to the Overkill squad Killteam so I can use them in games. Despite being in Mk7 armour, he blends in quite well enough I think:

The sharp eyed amongst you may have noticed that they're not all in the Mk8 armour. The reason for this is: I didn't want to pay for more than I had to. These guys were from my original inception of the Deathwatch army, but now have proper shoulder pads and whatnot to make it count. So I may as well use them, right? I'll sprinkle the Mk8 around the place to add flavour where I want it. Power Armour is Power Armour, so won't make any difference I think.

So, rawr. Thoughts, suggestions, tea cosy for sneggy's head, all welcomed.

According to the fluff Deathwatch are allowed to use the weapons and armor they came with or make use of the Deathwatch armory, so your models are technically correct.

Drop Pod? Drop Pod. Because Drop Pod.

Nice simple black scheme with vehicle iconography:

    Open dem doors!

    Close up of the interior:

And with a squad because why not? It's meant for a Dreadnought, but it's a utilitarian piece that I can use for either. And the squad was standing there ready to hand.

Thoughts, suggestions, comedically large foam mallet to chase sneggy with, all welcome.

I liked the work you did weathering (with a piece of foam?) the black paint of the drop pod, which preserved the utilitarian black Deathwatch look while still adding more interest than if it has been just plain black. Kudos also for assembling and painting the inside rather than just gluing the doors closed like a lot of people do.

This is all very impressive. I'm hoping my Deathwatch turn out this good NCE I learn how to actually paint instead of cheating - looks at necrons -

Do you use a spong for the weathering? And how do you go about painting the Deathwatch shoulder and arm?
