    Thank ye folks!

The weathering is with a sponge, a bit of spare carry case foam will do the trick. Cut it into a flat-tipped wedge, wipe off the excess and build it up (twice does the job nicely). Then go over with some black to soften it out in places. The silver areas are painted with Leadbelcher first, then a wash of watered down black ink applied over it (Nuln oil wash dries too grey and kills any shine), then leadbelcher again to smooth out the blend, then ironbreaker and lastly mithral silver as the highlight. Watch the transitions and keep them smooth and you'll be fine.

I know I'm a bit late to the party on this comment. But man, EB, that highlighting on the first Dark Angel pad you posted is gorgeous. What a green! You need to start a Dark Angels army so that I can see what you do with it. Mmhmm, that's some great blending. The squad shot really shows just how well you did that. And really, great job on the blending in general.

Overall, I love 'em EB! You're doing an awesome job keeping them cohesive and characterful! If I had one niggle, it'd be that the boltgun metal sponge technique is a bit lacking in depth. However, I know from experience how hard it can be to get depth in black armorplate for battle damage. My recommendation would be doing a test paint where you apply a thin line of grey between the boltgun metal and black on the very largest patches of boltgun metal. The slashes on the Novamarine's left shin (his left) is a good example of the ones that I mean. If that doesn't achieve the desired effect (which might happen due to the silver and grey somewhat merging), then try a light-ish brown or grey-ish white. I think you'll find it makes the battle damage really pop. I think a combination of painted on battle damage for larger patches (with chip highlighting) combined with the sponge technique would knock these marines right into the next stratosphere!

However, take with a grain of salt. You know me and my old love for beaten-to-hell marines. Love 'em, EB! Keep up the awesome work.

    Thanks chaps!

BCS - I know what you mean exactly, but to be honest I don't want to go killing myself with these guys. I did that with my Striking Scorpions, and they burnt me out for months! Besides, I'm hoping to get 1000 points of these guys done for early January for a friends' birthday. Doubt I will, but it would be nice.

And not much chance of me starting a DAngel army either, I've enough to do as it is without 40k stuffs!

    More Deathwatch? More Deathwatch!

First off, my Captain. As they can't take bikes (booo, hisssss), he's got a Jump Pack and a Big F'n Sword:

Blood Angel with Storm Shield of Mace of Botheration:

Ultramarine with Thunder Hammer of Nutcracking:

Imperial Fist with Chainsword of Awkward Letter Opening:

Dark Angel with Chainsword of Nail Clipping:

And a squad shot with the Raven Guard from the Overkill box to round out the squad:

Thoughts, suggestions, comments and amusing shaped vegetables to bother Drakon with, all welcome.

Doubt it. Hand/ head swaps are about it for me. Not too bothered by them.

If I may suggest a head swap then, how about a head from the Salamanders Pyroclasts ? Ill be honest, I want to see what it looks like because I intend to do it myself with my own deathwatch... once I get around to them.
