    Deathwatch Superfriends!

For those old buggers who've been here ages, you'll know about my Ordo Xenos Space Marine army. An army with a Grand Plan that got only so far and then ... got superceded by my bike army instead because it was more interesting to do.

Annnyway, along comes Codex: Deathwatch, a Codex I've wanted ever since I found out about Deathwatch Killteams from the original Chapter Approved article. So here's a Codex that exactly meets my desire for an army, and with it comes some pretty sweet models too, starting with Deathwatch Overkill.

And so our tale begins, gather round:

Chaplain Cassius: He likes long walks in the countryside, reading obscure literature and smiting filthy xenos scum with his crozius:

Jensus Natorian: he likes knitting fine lacework, baking cake and opening his mind to the warp to use it's powers to turn xeno scum into pink mist:

And the rest of the dudes:

    And of course, group shot:

Thoughts, suggestions, cake, long stick to prod tfg with for no reason, all welcomed.

I didn't know Cassius was the Ultramarines' resident hipster

Awesome looking models though! Love the crazy look in the DA guy's eyes.

Oh, and you'll receive your stick in 3-5 business days.

Oh yeah, total hipster. Does have to use a stick-on beard though.

    Thank you!

Oh wow, these look great! Good work.
Perhaps you should see how many chapters you can fit into this DW army of your's! XD

I must be an old bugger, because I remember that bike challenge of yours!

    Thanks Zoo!

Yup: you're an old bugger. It's official.

The Deathwatch Vet box comes with 17 different Chapter shoulder pads, some of which are duplicated in the Overkill box, so perhaps there's about 14 easily doable. And they look better than the plain shoulder pads, so that's easy enough to do.

Some of the chapters share the same pattern, so you can get a few more chapters in that way.

Lookin good. I never really got into my overkill box much. Most of the models don't fit into what I want to do with Deathwatch.

They look good EB, though being super honest. Because I'm a dick. Not as good as your Grey Knights (or your recent stint of uber oil paintings on facebook).

Are they pretty and nice? yes very much so!
Are they the best you can do? I want to see more! Moar!

Also if I have a TFG prodding stick do I have to give it to you or can I just prod him myself for you?

    Thanks chaps.

@Sneggy - yeah, I know. But the last lot of super-duper best-of-the-best minis I painted were my Striking Scorpions, and those things nearly killed me. With these though, I'm aiming for "decent", hence t's crossed, i's dotted and generally all there and a bit beaten up. They look better in real life, photos were iffy in yesterday's light. The group shot gives a better impression of them.

@The Black Shield - I couldn't do this when I started, all it takes is practice, patience and persistence.

Lack of spinning models is dissapointing though >_>

    Thanks gtf!

These aren't my best, they never were intended to be so. Aiming for consistency and repeatability with these ones. Better on my sanity that way.

Fair EB, though sanity is over rated.
I'm doing much the same, have got to a stage where I can produce miniatures to a level I'm happy to play with pretty damn rapidly and am trying to crank through the grey pile a bit

In EB's "It'll be alright on the Knight" thread. He would post his images in spinning gif form.

Check this page on the thread.. should be a spinning dude somewhere on there.
