    Dark Angel list?

    Okay... after a few months of collecting and painting I finally have a force I am proud of. Before I start I would like to say most my older metal troops I collected for collecting sake not caring about their equipment. I love the style of the older units and weapons and enjoy repairing more than painting. If I saw a bunch of 90s dark angels for only a few £ I would grab it and repair them. However, now I have troops I have no idea what lists to make and what I should take. XD I've only just started playing after collecting in the background for a while but I will post what I have below and then we can see if we can do anything with it.

    The Entire Dark Vengeance box I bought with a friend (he got chaos) from GW:
    1. Company Master armed with bolt pistol, power sword and combi-weapon
    2. Librarian who carries a bolt pistol and force sword
    3. a ten-man Tactical Squad
    4. five-man Deathwing Terminator Squad
    5. three-man Ravenwing Bike Squadron.

    My own collecting of 90s models from ebay:

    1.Assault Marines Squad (4 guys/ 1 sgt with jetpack).
    2.Dark Angel Devastator Squad (4 guys with missile launchers and 1 sgt)
    3.Dark Angel Space Marine Squad (9 guys with bolters and 1 flamer and 1 sgt)
    4.Dark Angel Space Marine Squad (9 guys with bolters and 1 flamer and 1 sgt)
    5.Dark Angel Space Marine Sgt (with a bolter)
    6.Dark Angel Space Marine Apothecary (chain fist and I think bolt pistol but it seems to be missing).
    7.Dark Angel Techmarine
    8.Dark Angel Company Master
    9.Dark Angels Chapter Master Azrael with his watcher and lion helm (no idea how I ended up with this, I think it came with a bundle I grabbed for a few pounds.)
    10.Dark Angels Banner Bearer
    11.Dark Angels Dreadnought (Assault cannon and power fist)
    12.Dark Angels Dreadnought (Smoke Launcher and Missile Launcher and twin-linked Lascannon)
    13.Deathwing Terminator Squad (4 Storm bolters, chainfists and 1 Cyclone Missile Launcher)
    14.Deathwing Terminator Squad (4 storm bolters, chainfists and 1 Heavy Flamer)
    15.Deathwing Terminator Squad (5 storm bolters and power fists)
    16.Razorback (twin linked heavy bolter)
    17. 10 marines that need painting.
    So what do you guys think? (I think I will stop collecting for a bit now as I've got to work on touching up the paints on these models and figure out a system for them).

    Mostly everything is the same, my dreadnoughts, termis, assault and tacts are exactly the same as the 7th edition. However, the HQ troops went through a lot of change over the 20 years and I'm not sure how to use them in a game of just oop models (and the codex is confusing my small little mind).

    HQ units I own:
    Banner barer
    Techmarine
    Company Master
    apothecary
    Azrael and his watcher

    I don't have any oop vet troops so unless I am getting it wrong a command squad seems out of the question. So what do I do? Just have them go in alone or can I hook them up with just a normal squad (not sure if this is possible, I think the codex is telling em they can only go with a vet squad)? Pretty sure right now the banner barer and apothecary can't be used in 7th edition without a command squad (unless I am reading something wrong). Also, should I maybe look out for some oop Servitors for my Techmarine and just have him in a small squad like that?

    And yeah, the Apothecary and Banner can only be used in Command Squads now.

    But can i link my HQ units to just any units? Like a company master with a tact squad?

    Ahh so that's what that means... I tried to see in coded but thought it just meant they can be by themselves not join a squad.

    Ha! Had some good luck! I won 3 metal oop vets (one a sgt) for a good price. Perfect to go with my baner and apoc! It seems my problem solved it self!

    As long as they are equipped properly It doesn't matter if the model is intended to be what you are using it for.

    Meh... my "out of production" army is basically a theme at this point. I'm playing a fun 1850 point game with it on Wednesday with a friends chaos. I never play competitive so for right now I'm saying "screw it" and doing unbound, people can just deal with it. (we play at a table top place not GW so GW can also deal with it) The army looks so awesome I don't care about winning games, I feel like I've come out of a timewarp when i play them. All of them are the original 80-90s metal models (fully fixed and touched up by myself to the point they look new again but also keeping any original paint from the period). Some stuff might be a bit off, in terms of why I would add power fists and stuff, but I'm limited to what original models I can fin. Although, I have a pretty standard army layout...

    One Wednesday I'm bringing this army to play - 1,805 in total (this army was made for max fun for the other player and me. The Game mode is just genocide.)
