Danthar checks the dead scorpion, mostly to ensure it is dead. Once he is assured of this, he continues on his journey, travelling for the rest of the day before reaching his destination.

Upon entering the small town, he notices that the guard presence is higher than he anticipated. Three guards wander past, talking to each other happily, but Danthar notices the discipline and watchfulness that professionals often hide beneath ineptitude.

Danthar walks aimlessly around town, appearing like he is looking for a tavern, but in reality looking for his target's place of residence.

You wander the town, striding calmly away from guards as they approach you, trying to look inconspicuous. None seem to pick you out from the small crowd of people milling about the streets, and you take it as a good sign.

As you pass yet another shop, you notice your target inside, surrounding by a small retinue (five) of guards. They appear to be in deep conversation with the man inside, who bears the Holy Symbol of the Goddess Ishimal.

Danthar will move to a nearby wall that is hidden from view, then climb it to the roof. Once there, he’ll camp out on the roof until the target emerges.

Danthar crosses the street and climbs onto the rooftop, taking up a position that allows him clear sight to the door of the shop.

As he waits, the sun slowly moves across the sky. Just as the sky begins to redden, the officer and his entourage exit the building. You are unable to gain a clear shot on the officer, as two of his guards walk before him, with two behind him.

They begin walking down the street, heading in the direction of the barracks You passed on the way in.

You spend the next few days on the roof, but the officer does not return. You do notice however that a number of the soldiers that were with him that day visit throughout the day, each acting as if they don't want to be seen going into the shop.

Huh. Wait for one to go in, then slip off the roof and head in to the shop.

You slide off the roof as another guard enters during the late morning rush. He seems almost inconspicuous as he closes the door carefully behind him.

You on the other hand decide to enter as any simple shopper would, with as much stealth as a dead horse. As the door shuts behind you with a small thump, you see the guard spin in surprise, and the Priest behind the counter look up in shock. You notice a piece of paper on the counter, but cannot read the writing from this distance.

The solider slides the paper away before you can move, and looks at the display case beside him, pretending to browse the items within.

The Priest, over his initial shock, approaches you. "How may I help you today sire?" His tone is welcoming, albeit with a hint of annoyance, and some other emotion.

Danthar walks in, looking slightly at the guard who is in there, before giving a head bow to the priest in front of him. "Hello there good sir, I have a letter for a <insert target's name here>, and I'm looking around town to see if anyone knows where to direct me to. Might you or" *nods to yonder guard* "yourself, know where he might be?"

The guard noticeably stiffens at your question, his hand drifting for his weapon. The shopkeeper jumps to answer, seeming nervous.

"Last i saw he was at the western garrison, on the other side of town. Some important meeting that isn't to be disturbed. If you want I can pass the letter along?"
