The grasslands are warm, have suitable land for crops and beasts to hunt.
    We take our chances here.

Urg's people build their city of stone, while Urg himself sought out those who have similar gifts to his own, gathering them in a council to solve the future problems of succession. It was decided that union between Urg and a woman of power would be able to produce an heir with similar abilities. Meanwhile of course, the quest of immortality would continue...

    @scythes

Music: At least, let me be remembered in song...
City: Your city will be your legacy! (Completed construction of your city)
Garden: Rumors have come to you of a verdant garden, with all manner of fruit and crop! Perhaps some mythical fruit may bring immortality?

As the winter continues to rage, The Akrin people rally and march out in the dark, carrying spears and clubs. Like a plague, the Akrin descended upon the sleeping Quan, massacring every last man, woman, and child. As Morrigan herself impaled the shamans that brought her the visions, they smiled at her. Did they know that she would come for them?

The next day, as the Quan burned in a great bonfire, spring came. The Akrin people found themselves masters of the great river, as the Gar-Phoo have decided to seek greener pastures. The Akrin people, perhaps traumatized by the genocide of their erstwhile neighbor, or perhaps simply because there was just too much land to go around now that their neighbors are gone, fracture into 5 different tribes, each shedding the name Akrin and donning another persona, with Morrigan leading the remaining Akrin.

    @General 40

Law: This must never happen again. Big words like 'sedition', 'treason', and 'separatist' are invented.
Schism: You will allow this great separation. It makes things easier for the next sacrificial genocide.
Medicine: Your dabbling with murder has taught your people how to tend to wounds.

The Gar-Phoo trudge through the snow to this new wonderland. It was everything they hoped for and more. Crops sprang freely from the ground without even requiring the slightest amount of tilling, and more importantly, frost never touched these green lands.

    @Gary M

Druidism: We are one with the land.
Vision: Who'me is struck by a vision!
Death: Who'me dies, and time is pushed forward 100 years.

Rif communes with the Tiger, and in his mind's eye, follows the great beast west, faster and faster, until he comes upon a broken mountain, cleaved apart by the sea, leaving each half sitting on opposite shores. The Tiger swims into the sea, and drowns. On the opposite shore, another tiger emerges from the water. Younger, more vibrant. In that instant Rif understood.

    @theonelogician

Life: The Tiger's meaning is clear. It is releasing us from his patronage.
Death: Rif will lead the horde west, and sacrifice himself to the sea. Such is the price demanded for their promised land. (Rif dies, and time is pushed forward 100 years)

    THE YEAR IS ELEVEN

Rif awakens, looks around at his sleeping harem, and nods contently. He's had a good life, but now it is time to end. To the Sea and the Divided Mountain!

Urg looks into the rumors of the verdant garden. If there is such a mythical place untainted by the hands of man then a magical, life-giving fruit could potentially be found.

*I don't want to leave the city behind, this should just be an expedition to find the mythical garden*

With his people settled in a new verdant land, Who'me knew he had done well for his people.
However he had felt the journey keenly and his old body was wracked with aches and pains he hid from his people.
He went to sleep with a contented smile on his face knowing his sons would ensure continuity of leadership and successfully guide his people.
It was however the long slow sleep of death, for Who'me never woke again, and it is said that his wise spirit guides and protects the Gar-phoo with the help of the ancestors.

There's a lot to unpack here. First I will detail the choices you have made, and describe what has taken place in the next 100 years. We will also discuss options nobody took, and how that impacts the future. I also invite everyone to post their feedback of the game at this juncture. @scythes @theonelogician @General 40 @Gary M . After a short feedback session we will head on to the next level of the game.

The End of the First Age.

    North-by-North-West Tribe

    Deity (Maritime Path)
    Offerings (Society)
    Magic (Spiritualism)
    Language (Technology)
    Holy Book (Spiritualism 2)
    Masonry (Technology 2)
    Coven (Spiritualism 3)
    Garden (Fatalism)

    Grob

    Stirrup (Nomadic Path)
    Vision (Spiritualism)
    Holy Book (Spiritualism 2)
    Husbandry (Technology)
    Race (Society)
    Law (Society 2)
    Magic (Spiritualism 3)
    Death (Fatalism)

    Akrin People

    Culture (Agrarian Path)
    Husbandry (Technology)
    Neighbors (Fatalism)
    Magic (Spiritualism)
    Currency (Technology 2)
    Vision (Spiritualism 2)
    Anarchy (Government)
    Medicine (Technology 3)

    Gar-Phoo

    Culture (Agrarian Path)
    Coven (Spiritualism)
    Language (Technology)
    Mathematics (Technology 2)
    Winter (Fatalism)
    Road (Construct)
    Garden (Fatalism 2)
    Death (Fatalism 3)

Result: The world retains its spiritual view of the world, believing in arcane and magical powers beyond the physical. Advances into technology has been made, with survival still hinging on nature and its whims.

Advances not chosen by any tribe:

    Hurricane
    Shore
    Schism (Fatalism)

    Music
    Philosophy
    Theater (Society)

    Empower
    Druidism (Spiritualism)

    Walls
    City
    Palace
    Monument (Construct)

    God-King
    Monarchy
    Theocracy
    Republic
    Despotism (Government)

Result: The Tribes continue to take what is useful for them and has largely shunned luxury and complex systems of governance, putting more trust in technology and spiritual beliefs.

    **************

Urg's expedition to the Garden took many days, and when he arrived, he found the Gar-Phoo jealously guarding their new land. With Who'me's recent death, leadership was assumed by another, more bellicose Tribe Leader. Harsh words were spoken, and Urg, wielding his magics, made war on the Gar-Phoo, resulting in the destruction of the Garden.

Infinitely high above, Drakon, the Dragon of Creation, roared its approval across the trembling heavens. The creation and deprivation of plenty wasn't crucial to anything, but chaos always pleased him. As it was, the Gar-Phoo managed to restore some of the Garden, allowing them to prosper, but the gift of immortality would never be theirs, nor would it be Urg's.

The man who thought he was a God closed his eyes, many years after the war for the Garden, and so passed the first of the divine line of Urg. His legacy remained strong for the coming years. His city now bears its name, and the City of Urg spanned across the coast and looked far into the horizon. The sea beckons.

The story of The Drowning was told from Grob parent to child. The First Chieftain of the Grob, Rif, drowned himself under the shadow of the Broken Mountains' tides, paying the toll for crossing it for all the Grob. They had arrived in a fresh continent. It was a rugged land of plains, but also of mountains and grassland. And the Grob prospered, and spread across the land to graze as they please.

Alone among the former members of the Man-herd, the Akrin remained still upon the banks of the Great River. The winter frost had been banished, and they now worshiped Peking, the Great Duck. Their lands remained as bountiful as they were before, and the climes only got warmer as time went by. The Akrin however, began to splinter and spread themselves out into various city-states along the Great River after Morrigan's death. The occasional war between them, it was said, kept the winters at bay there...

As for the Jagat that the Grob merely passed by and the Gar-Phoo have heard about briefly? They grew from an agrarian civilization into an empire of white stone. Overlooking the northern seas and the Broken Mountains, wondering how the Grob ever made it across. Drakon looked at the humans from the Infinite Above, and roared a name that rang out for a hundred days.

When the echoes of the Dragon's roar finally faded, a child was born among the Grob, who had grazed across their land, virtually leaderless and wild for so long. The child's name was Canute, and he would be the man to unite the Grob under a single leader once more, and take them to new lands again...

    THE YEAR IS 111

    **********

All right, so let's have it - what do you think of the game so far?

I like it so far, it's fun shunning many choices I "should" have made and instead try to become a god. Round 2....GO!
