Blaze's Infinity and Hordes stuff! Come see

Right, I was at my painting station (and by that I mean my desk with poor lighting ) and thought I'd take some pictures of what I've done and what I'm working on.

Oh and always, the pictures are a bit naffy, but, these were just taken quickly, but one day I might try and set up a box with lighting and such.

First up, some of my Yu Jing faction for Infinity. Some of you may remember me posting some of these months ago. Hopefully you lot remembered them and the other folks will like them!

My Invincible. I might do some thin washes of black to dull the highlights a bit and I also have some more details to do.

These are really nice models, and I really like the paint jobs. What are they from Phoenix?

The smaller white and black dudes are from a fantastic wargame called Infinity. A skirmish based game with a sci-fi/anime feel which works on a very fun system. Not only is there a turn based system, but there is a reaction system so you can act in your opponents turn. Check it out at http://www.infinitythegame.com

The big bastards are my from my Trollbloods from Hordes. Fun to paint, but I prefer the style of the Infinity models. It's a game where a force will generally only be around 10 models, but I have like, 4 factions and about 70 models......

A quick side - the PanOceana Aquila Guard model comes with a HMG, but I want to use it as the Multi-Rifle...you see a prob with that??

A lot of players will let you proxy. I would too. Normally I wouldn't, but I know how difficult it is to get model parts (there's no bits service, so if you want a certain arm, you have to buy the entire model) so for Infinity, I'm pretty easy going.

What you could do is, if you have the ORC with MULTI Rifle, just switch the weapons round. You now have an Aquila Guard that can be a WYSIWYG Lt. and an ORC with an HMG.

And as an Infinity player, I feel it is my duty to push the game whenever possible. Although, that was a pretty bad job of selling it, but I didn't want to go into too much detail lest it be seen as advertising or something and the mods come down and pwn me.

To sort of lead off topic slightly, I had a look on the Vassal site - no-one there. I want to play against someone

But yeah a bit more on topic I think the Shang Ji gun needs something more to make it 'pop' so to speak, It looks good, but needs perhaps a silver/blue tinge to make it look more sci-fi...

I use Shadow and Space Wolves grey a lot as it builds up a slight blue undertone. It usually works, but on the Shang Ji, it just didn't. I might just go back and paint the weapon again, I think it lets the whole model down, which is otherwise, okay.

I've tried using vassal before, but it hasn't worked for me in the past. I might try again and let you know if I'm available for a few games!

And on topic - perhaps the same technique but mix a bit of blue into the Space Wolves grey, I've done it in an admittedly poor NMM attempt, but it did lay down a nice hue.

But - practice it till you get the colour you like in real life, don't start onto the model on blind faith alone...*goes off grumbling about his idiocy and bright blue chainmail....*

Ha, the Keisotsu and my Troll Bouncer were both painted with blind faith. I just relied on some painting experience to see me through.

I wonder why the other Warmachine/Hordes folks have yet to even say anything about my Bouncer ><

Love the minis, Blaze.
The skin of the troll is very good, though the metal seems a bit bland, expecially in comparison. I can imagine that the metal looks better IRL, though.

Yeah, the flash killed off some of the highlighting on the Troll...stupid flash.

@ KamiKaZantA, don't let that stop you at all! Infinity players here are few and far between! But just collecting them is enough for me until I can convert enough of my friends to regularly play the game!

I dig your bases, Im building a SpaceHulk board of a deralect ship for kill team. would be intrested to know what you did for those bases. So I could base a squad of Terminators and genestealers similarly

The bases are made from different types of plasti-card. The main type is has these little squares spread over them, not like tiles though as they're spaced, but I thought it had a bit of a sci-fi feel.

The other parts are just different types of plasti-card, rods girder type part, C-Bars and T-bars and thicker plasti-card to create different layers. I think I need more practise though in making them more seamless and put some more detail into them.
