Quite curious myself too. I know the atmosphere there is a bit more chills than here and that may lead to a bit more chaos but I didn't imagine it would be that bad.

Yes. Sounds like something nasty has gone down, and I don't like how it sounds. Especially the parts about quitting, or never going back.

We've worked damned hard to build the IRC up to more than just two or three people idling away, it's become a fun part of the community, and it'd be a shame to have it all come crashing down.

And as tone said, the rules are relaxed there, so it can be a bit crazy... but it's been running a while now, a good chunk of 2008, and this is the first time there's ever been any major issue in there, is what happened that bad and that unresolvable that people are quitting for good?

As such, I'm investigating what happened, trying to get some sense out of it to figure out how to sort this out. Anyone with anything to say regarding this occurance, or anything else, feel free to PM me on here or on the chat.

Im in there quite often now, they do get a little rowdy but I missed what has caused this.

To be honest LadyK/MrsHavoc is brill in there and they'll soon start complaining should someone else come in with a heavy hand.

Maybe a heavy hand is required with it now....keep certain characters under control and stop others whining like little girls.

Whatever happened should not have happened

IMO LK's pretty central in keeping the chat interesting and fun, and I would like her to feel able to return. I hope this s*** is done with and we can get back to normal?

As much as I hate to tie up things with red tape, I'm going to have to instate a rule about scripts and such. Namely, don't bother using them until you've got both my go ahead, and the acceptance of anyone it may affect. And as a forewarning, if it affects the running of the chat, or really interferes in any way with the flow of conversation or the atmosphere in the channel, I'll be nixing it.

That goes for bots and the like too.

It has to be mentioned, though. The Bots were not the problem, but the other inhabitants of the chat. I do not blame Sub for any of the "havoc" caused by the bots, but rather those who chose to 'activated' them.

Like the spamming of the "order xxxxx" bot. I never saw Sub do any spamming, it was 3 or 4 other inhabitants of the chat that chose to spam it. The chat could prove to be a quite effective study on human psyche.....shame I'm bollocks on that

Ive never had a problem with any of the people Moding the chat threat to be honest. I wasnt around when whatever happened to cause this recent uproar happened, but I cant help but thinking its been blown out of proportions.

The bots like vodka bot and such were abused by some people and got annoying, but thats not Subs fault. He asked people not to spam them and if it became apparent that they were ignoring him he took them offline. And heck i havent even seen them in there for a couple of weeks at all so I think he stopped useing them all together anyways.

So honestly I dont see what the fuss is about.
