NEW ARMY LIST RULES - READ THIS BEFORE POSTING.

Ok guys, this forums really beginning to wind me up a little too much, especially people who can't be bothered to tidy up their army lists from army builder and the like - as a result I present to you the "new" rules. These may look like the old ones but trust me, there's a few differences.

    RULE ONE
When you post your army list you should use some formatting to keep the forum tidy and readable for all.

Firstly you should choose a "Prefix" for your topic - this shows which army your army list is for, whether it's Chaos, Tyranids, or whatever, this lets people easily identify what your army list is about.

You should then add the following into your Thread Title:
    [Description][Points Value]
Simple enough, so for example, mine would be ......
    Infantry Heavy - Tournament List | 1500pts
Simple enough really, and will help people only go into topics they can help with.

    RULE TWO
In respect to GW privacy policy I'm going to have to enforce this rule. When posting army lists DON'T give the points costs of individual upgrades like Gauntlet of Killy Death [5] like it does on army builder. Just post Gauntlet of Kill Death instead. Bear in mind that this doesn't apply to unit costs, so you can still type Tactical Squad [275], just not what each specific thing costs. Following onto this within the above tactical squad I can say that my Veteran Sarge [70] as long as I don't break down what bits cost what.

This will mainly apply to chaos armies with lots of Daemonic Gift etc.

    RULE THREE
This somewhat follows on from the previous rule, but don't give out rules here either, for example instead of typing "Gauntlet of Killy Death [5] - Kills all models within 6" automatically" - simply type "Gauntlet of Killy Death".

    RULE FOUR
Be sensible with your formatting in your post, make it readable! Some Army Builder programs can export an army list in a long list, detailing every last bit of information from the army list - shorten it down so that preferably every unit takes up no more than 1 or 2 lines of your post.

    Reminder
Ok - one last reminder - Mod will and have deleted threads because they don't follow the rules - please bear that in mind.

PS - Anyone has anything to discuss about this then please PM me - Mods anything to add talk about it in our forum first.

Just reminding people about this... seems things have got a little lax and confusing as of late. Please try and make your topic titles nice and clear... and make sure your topic belongs here! Had to move a few discussions around because they weren't really army lists. If you're wondering where your topic is, it's probably in General or 40k Tactics.

As of this post I'm going to be giving this forum more attention to make sure it stays this way. I don't want to have to start deleting everyone's posts but if people continue making badly named threads I will start shooting them down.

    Cheers,
    Kel

Re: NEW RULES - READ THIS BEFORE POSTING.

OK, Can I please draw people attention to this again please, it's getting lax in here and starting to annoying me again. So, Follow the rules or I'll start randomally deleting posts which aren't.

Edit - Purging Started, 10 Topics Deleted 17 July, Obey the Rules and yours won't be one of them.

Edit 2 - Purging Continues, another 10-15 army lists gone. Follow the Rules and we won't have this problem.

Re: NEW ARMY LIST RULES - READ THIS BEFORE POSTING.

Just to make it really clear, I've had a few people PM me over the last few days regarding this part of the forum being messy. I'll be, come Monday Night/Tuesday Morning deleting any post on the frontpage which doesn't follow the rules, I feel that this weekend warning is enough for everyone to alter their posts if they need it and is long enough for new posters to read the rules. You've been warned.

I've updated this post. I just added some Topic Prefixes for this forum - meaning you can now specify which Army your army list is for as part of topic creation, so some of the previous topic formatting was now unnecessary. Should make it easier to read this forum too
